A fair number of people doing bus conversions opt for unsynchro'd trannys, but in the Great Galactic Scheme of Things they are a tiny percentage of RV'ers.

my motorhome plans always involved an old school bus, but it is getting harder to find them with manual tranny's

Pretty specific uses for that baby.

Wonder how many miles to the gallon?

way overpriced, you can by surplus trucks like this for $4000 and less, you could build this for less than 50k most likely

Surplus and completely gone through by the factory are two different animals. I have a Mog that's new from stem to stern and it's nothing like a surplus one.

Now here's a toyhauler I could live with! I like that the garage is small and doesn't really give up a bedroom's worth of space.

I can maybe get this from a local mechanic for less than $4k.

84-86 winnebago elandan 30? footer.

he put some time into it hoping he could pull his enclosed trailer [drag rail].
turns out the rear suspension can't handle the tongue weight. now he needs money.

interior is good for its age. 454 chevy with turbo 400 transmission. mechanic thought these were well maintained and ready to go. Motor has an aftermarket Holley Projection throttle body fuel injection system on it that i would love to have on my 61 chevy shortbed hotrod.

on the negative- there is something wrong with the water heater. and the rust round the windshield. maybe a few other small things.

need to sell my concours and a suzuki sidekick parts car to make physical and financial room.

hi everyone!

can someone point me in the direction of a link that was posted somewhere in adv about a german couple who after travelling africa in a landcruiser troopcarrier then had a custom camper built on another landcruiser chassis with modern engine etc but it had an FJ40 cab grafted on?

the accommodation was one of those foam sandwich things that extended upwards when they wanted to use the facilities...very similiar in look to the boxes you see on the back of MAN's or Unimogs

thanks for any assistance!

Shane

There isn't a single unpaved road in the county but they've got a 4x4 bookmobile!

Wouldn't this make a GREAT expedition rig?

Yup. Reminds me of a Unimog school bus that I saw on a used truck lot in Mexico several years ago:
