My feeling is, that if you go to the effort to buy and apply the sticker, then you need to accept what comes along with having the sticker. A nice friendly salute. If you don't want stranger's saluting you, then don't put the sticker on.

I neglected to mention that I go around putting "ADV" and "FYYFF" sticker on people's bikes just so FF's like us will salute them.
