Hey I'm having MAJOR handling issue !!.The rig is UNRIDABLE with weight in the car !!.When the car is empty it pulls alittle to the right under power, and to the left when you let off the throttle ( manegable ).When there is a load in the car ( I put in 100lbs ) it pulls sooooooo hard to the right when you give it ANY throttle that I can only ride for about 1 mile at freeway speed ( 60mph ) before my arms are jello and I have to pull over. When I let off the throttle it DIVES to the left,at 60mph this will scare the living hell out of you !!!.I just checked the toe in and it is set straight ahead,I had it toed in 1 inch but I guess I lost that when adjusting the lean out. Also my bike suspension is REALLY soft,I lost probably 30-40% of my travel when I hooked up the car,and another probably 40% when I sit on the bike.Because of this I have ALOT of leanout,Thats why I tried to add weight to the car to see if it would even out.SO I'm kinda lost here on what to do??,Will adjusting the toe in make that much differenc??,is it the soft suspension on the bike??,combo of both??,OR am I missing something when I built it??.I REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS...

Trail reduction needed, I think.

Ya,I agree and I'm getting leading links soon but the way this thing pulls under load I'm not sure it's only that..but maybe,I'm a noob so I will consider anything.

You have breaks on the hack? Are they dragging?
Wheel hub hot?

Bearings packed recent?
I'm just wondering if the wheel is dragging at all.

are you checking the leanout and toe-in with the suspension compressed as if you were sitting on the bike and the sidecar loaded?

are you sure you don't have toe out?

And yes, you do need to address the bike suspension if it is really that soft.

how much sidecar wheel lead have you? How wide is your track compared to your wheelbase?

When I set up the toe in at first I used 2 10' peices of square stock ( steel ),but used them up so now I have to get more.Yesterday at work I checked it with 2 peices there and found out that I have 0 toe in.I'm hopefully buying some leading legs from a inmate here so that should really help.As far as subframe flex goes I can't see OR feel any so if there is some it's minimal at best.I'm riding it now with the car empty and except for the VERY hard steering it's not to bad,I'm told that the DMC leading legs really help and as soon as I can get them I will put them on and hopefully the hard steering will improve. This weekend I'm dismounting the car and remounting with the bike under load and leveling out everything and setting the toe in at about 1 inch to start.Oh ya and my wheel lead is at about 9-10 inches. Wheelbase is about 61" and the track is about 50"

Very well could be it or maybe a part of it. Too much toe in may not give any ill handling effefts but toe out will cause a poulll to the right. If you are measuring zero toe in it probably is going into toe out when under way.
Any movement at all in the mounting systme can also cause ill effects.
You may want to unhool th esidecar suspension and leave the sidecar swingarm so it can pivot. Then check toe in at various ride heights.
THIS THREAD PROBABLY BELONGS IN ANOTHER SECTION.

Trail reduction will certainly make a difference at the handlebars but it will not solve the problem.
The V Stroms have very soft suspensions on them.

Wrong side

northwestrider. I think you have the chair on the wrong side. It works better the other way around.
