Are the forks there yet?
What are you going to do for a rear wheel. I'm on the lookout for a 18" dr350 wheel (with cush drive) Panniers should be in before friday Quote:
I went for the kientech kit. Get the stainless flange because the aluminium one starts to leak after a while. |

OK, so the KTM EXC triples are a direct bolt on, right? The EXC bearings and stem will fit into the DR frame with the DR races, right?
Sorry to hijack.....I am just getting ready to a DR build up myself, and plan to do a similar complete front end swap. Does anyone know of a upgraded shock from a DRZ or MX bike will fit? THX

I've read it on some forums that the dr350 uses the same hub as the dr650 only with a 18" rear wheel. Like to use that because of the availability of tires when you're somewhere near the edge of the world.
If you measure the ID OD and the height of the bearing you need. I'll look through some books see if there's some standard bearing that matches up. Quote:
Yeah bit disappointed with the tires, I was hoping the would last like the trailwings (7000km) |

Mezo, that will be one righteous DR when you're done. Good luck and keep the pic's coming.

I like the tires it's just that I don't like changing tires 4/5 times a year. And for an around australia trip you want to find something that'll last 7/8000 km just so you end up in big cities when you need to change them. |

Ok, I'm back.
On my bike I left the stock DR cups aka races in the frame, and then put on the EXC triples/stem/bearings. I also re-used the DR dust seals, maybe KTM ones will fit but I haven't tried.

On my pre 96 DR 650 R, i just pressed out the KTM stearing steam of the lower KTM clamp. Then pressed in the old DR steam in the KTM lower clamp. Voula !! and I could use the DR bearings
Had to machine a spacer for the top bearing, but i worked fine. Happy projekt.

Very nice! I really love this build and all the components. I LOVE my KTM, but sometimes wish I had a DR/XR motor and KTM suspension/brakes.
