Anyone riding tomorrow? early thirty? no off-road, strictly broken pavement, smooth pavement or short gravel hops. Needs some miles on this thing.
I have a commitment late tomorrow afternoon but I could do an early ride out to eat lunch or something like that.

You pick up another air filter yet? Or is that one cleanable? Of course, if you stay out front, doesn't matter:BIGGRIN

Gurrrr I need my new debit card to come in so I can order crap. How the hell have I made it 15 years of riding motorcycles and not have acquired some tire tools.
Out of all the tools I have I do not own a single tire iron. And I can't finish my bike with out them. Or can I................. To be continued.

It's easy enough to do with a couple of flat head screwdrivers. It's just much easier to pinch a tube with a screwdriver vs a proper tire iron. For a little more security you could grind the edges down a little and put a couple of wraps of tape on the screwdriver.

Again, not a problem, if you don't get behind anyone. ;-)

well I got the tire mounted and my Old XL is now complete again. I do have one tire spoon. but the only tire it has even been used on until now was the 6 ply IRC baja tire I ran on the back of my XR when I raced. We use this thing as one hell of a pry bar. It's only just over 2 feet long and the spoon is close to 2 inches wide... My dad used it in his automotive shop to lift up on front tires on cars to check for slack in the lower ball joints.
Well with it and one flat head to hold the bead down getting started I got it mounted in 10 minuets. I'll get pictures up later. and in the proper thread

My wife just said this regarding a friend who just bought his first bike, a Kawasaki Super Sherpa:
"i don't even remember if he told me what kind he bought... and if he did it would have sounded like this to me: wah, wah, wah,, number, number, number, get ready to smile and looked stoked and pretend its the most awesomest bike ever." I think it pretty accurately sums up her thoughts on motorcycling .
