I'm not sure what the etiquette is here regarded mentioning other forums, but there's a wealth of information on another forum about our bikes. Fuelling, ECU eprom chips for the first gen bikes, pretty much everything you could think of! I'd like to ask a favour as well please. I've been after a solo seat cowl for my first gen Tuono for a while now. If anyone has one for sale or hears of one, could you give me a shout please? Thanks folks! |

....and I need a correction!!! Map-1 or Map-2 and exhaust: Aprilia included the option of switching the ECU mapping between two modes. Engine variant 1, aka Map-1 and engine variant 2 or Map-2. The bikes are shipped with Map-1 enabled as standard. This is a closed loop mode that uses the Lambda exhaust probe to help maintain a lean A/F ratio for low exhaust emissions. This mode is tuned to work with the stock mufflers and Cat converters. Map-2 is for use with racing mufflers and without Cat converters. It is tuned for performance and is not emissions friendly. It does not use the Lambda (runs in open loop mode). Though it is not used, the probe must remain connected. Switching between the two modes is only possible with the AXONE or the Navigator.

The map can only be switched with the Axone tool.

Another Tuoldo dude here. Got an 04 in feb and love it
![]() Prev owner did some nice things to it: pvm wheels, full tigcraft exhaust, penske double, traxxion forks, chip, derestrict airbox, wave rotors, some cf nonsense... I've done the practical bits, like a touring screen (MRA, huge improvement) and fit a givi topcase rack to a pillion seat. Just put a fresh pair of Roadsmarts on it, sport touring tires are amazing these days. I'll get a current pic up at some point, it's embarrasing though because I never clean my bikes

Welcome Drew
Give your bike a wash and a polish and post a pic Would be interested in your Screen as I have a spare high one but I found it noisy, though I thought I might us it for track days as it may give me more to tuck into I have also done another mod which some may think is strange , I fitted 50mm bar raisers and I like that a lot better as I'm a Dirt biker by nature . I will probable take them off for the track though Will await your pics

Tuono
Best NAKED bike around.
Bought mine 3+ years ago. Only regret is the FACTORY was not available yet as the OHLINS suspension would have been worth the 3K.

Not sure if your the same as me but I recon a Harley and a Tuono are weird garage mates and I finally realized the Tuono is better looking ( in a less cromey sort of a way) ![]() PS, My Harley with ohlins probable wouldn't handle much better and the Tuono with ohlins would be a cheats bike |
