Garmin 276c Voltage display question

Have decided to move out of the stone ages and update my 12MAP....

Want to get a 276c as it will work on the boat/bikes/cage. Mostly swayed by the 12v display as I like this as a heads up on possible electrical issues. Can the display be set up on the screen as permanent display or is this only on start-up/shut down?

Thanks!

Yes, it can be set up to display on any of the screens on my 276C.

It can also be set to alarm if the voltage drops below a chosen set point value.

I use it to monitor my voltage while running heated gear. Vstrom won't handle all of it on at once (gloves, jacket, pants, socks) so I have to regulate.

Make sure to verify voltage with a volt meter. My 478 reads 0.2 volts lower than my volt meter. Better yet it to verify voltage from the battery with only the unit on (no lights, pumps etc), then you'll know at which point you are discharging the battery.
