It's a charity thing, so I see no harm in the experience - I can ride alone anytime.

Must remember to bring extra ear plugs, though...

(I just noticed this - but is it an inside joke of some sort here that the post counter is labeled "Oddometer" instead of "Odometer"?)

maybe some ADVers wouldn't mind teaching 2 newbies the ways of group riding before the event and/or let us join your group on the day of ;)
I won't be able to ride it, but I rode the Ride for Sight a few times. Riding in Large groups is no different that smaller groups IMO. The Road captians and other "designated bikes" are basically there that if the group is separated, that everyone still rides the proper route, doesn't speed or drive dangerously to "catch up" and so on.

In a large group just make sure you don't make sudden moves like braking lane changing etc. Otherwise it's kinda neat to be in the middle of a pack, stand on the pegs and see bikes for a mile ahead and behind you.

lol trust me, it was a kick in the groin when i got the quote out here. i literally had that tingling in the throat and the stomach aches associated with a swift kick in the balls.

edit:
as per:
http://www.mpi.mb.ca/AnnualReport/An...dEarnings.html

MPI seems to be retaining around $350,000,000.00 annually. thats over one third of a billion dollars per year.

sorry all, i just couldn't hold my mini rant in, the combination of paying my license last week and now learning how cheap it is here set me off. i even sent a letter to my MP... again... i honestly wonder if they even read the emails they get, i have not once gotten a response even though i ask for one in every one of my emails.

You guys pay a lot of gas too. Just saying.

Are there any back country roads up on Riding Mountain? I use to bear hunt over in that part of the country. There sure where a lot of bears on that hill.

Little wonder that Sask has more boutique brands like Ural and Enfield that we don't get here. I'd buy a Bullet as a second scoot for around town if my rates were $500....

(and if we had a dealer)
