Are you taking it out for a ride? Did you do the thermabob kit?

Hey munz, I don't ride my KLR like it's a motocross bike...I know you do though! lol...I am happy with my skid plate, of course until it breaks that is. I am going to spend some cash on some things I don't have before I replace things that I already have.

I'll be doing about 3 short hard runs on Saturday to break in the rings and cylinder.
I did the Thermobob, Ricor Intiminators, Ricor rear shock and a Lithium Ion battery. Tomorrow I have a bit of electrical to do to power the electric visor and gloves. Sunday I plan on adjusting the new windscreen for flow and to trim it to remove the handlebar interference. Then, weather permitting, a day run or two, and head east.

I'll have to take a look at the plate you have Brian, the one I was looking at is nearly .2 of an inch thick so its tough but its expencive almost 100 more then yours. The main thing I am concerned about is having good coverage and resistance to bending from a fully loaded bike hammering a rock.

Do you happen to know the thickness?

I'll measure it when I'm out there this AM, take a couple of pics and post them to you. No question that the one you were looking at is a better looking skid plate.

Also another thing I should look at is does it look like it could take a beating.

Ok, no pics (long day...) but this one is .20 as well seems tough, but I can't say it's better or worse than others. I'm heading out to St. Andrews to do more work on the bike in the AM. If you want to come have a look, I'm game.
Cheers, PM

PS. I took it for a run down the highway today, and it quit on me. :-(
Then I remembered that I had meant to put gas in it, so I leaned it to the left; restarted, and made it back to the shop. Phew! What a blast! I'm a day ahead of schedule!

Congrats, Looks kinda like you already.

Got a question for you all, anybody have a reliable place in town/canada to get an 8 Post Position Jumper for an 8 Post Dual-Row Barrier Block?

I am trying to get the parts together to make a relay switched power distribution block so when I turn the key off all accessories turn off as well.

I already looked at The Source (was radio shack I think) Crappy Tire, Part Source, Wal-Mart, and they all have the barrier blocks but no position jumpers.

Radio Shack online has them but they don't ship internationally, so its looking like I'm screwed unless I can find something.

I was really hoping to avoid buying one of those pre-packaged ones from twisted throttle or the other sites for adv types as those are nearly $60 before taxes and I could build one for $15.

If anybody needs clarification look here http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/relay.php
