Yea, should be. As long as we're not talking hardcore trails. To be honest, I haven't been off the tarmac much except for a packed dirt and gravel road once or twice but have been looking forward to doing more.

Bluwolf and I had a great ride on Sunday. I had no idea there were a bunch of unpaved roads that close by or that they would be that much fun to ride on. We did what I think was a good combo of dirt/gravel and paved roads. Looking forward to more rides like this, next time I'll bring my GoPro.

Single track with the Nighthawk.

The bikes started out on the top of this berm:

And had to come down this incline:

Was a long but good day!

Question ride this weekend?

I'm a noob but if anyone is up for a mostly off pavement/backroad ride this weekend I am up for it. Just not comfortable on the main roads yet and need to learn the backroads. I am in Vienna.

Thanks,
Dave

sunday ride

DCDave,

Sent you a PM.
Could meet you or anyone else Sunday at 10 AM at the Aldie Mill on RT 50 for a little mixed riding. A little asphalt and a little dirt. or more of either.
Call this an open invite.
I'll check again in the morning,

I'm in Haymarket and might just take you up on that. I'll check in once I get up in the morning...provided I get up.

Ran the Spartan Race at Pev's today and I'm hoping my body doesn't hate me too much tomorrow morning.

Wish I could make this but I'm stuck with father's day family festivities.

Wink Weekend Gravelers

Y'all,
No Rain out here so I Took the drive anyway.
2 hours & 53 miles of dirt, lunch in Round Hill, then another hour & 30 miles of dirt. A little of Fauquier, a lot of Loudoun.

Don't worry, I left some for you.

Next weekend looks good.
Vote your choice - Saturday or Sunday?
Sunday AM usually works best for me.
Watch the weather and I'll post a plan on Friday.

Sundays work better for me. Saturday my boys have swim meets. I would love to hit some more offroad rides. I don't mind a little rain either.

Sounds like you had a good time, wish I could have made it out.

In general I'm open to either Saturdays or Sundays and would love to ride (as long as the route is "pig friendly". This particular Sunday I have a prior commitment (happens to be another ride, paved-only) so I am unlikely to be able to make it that day.

Sunday ride

OK here's a plan.
This Sunday morning 10 AM Aldie Mill, on RT. 50 1 mile west of Rt. 15.
The route is dual sport, mostly two lane dirt/gravel, improved but interesting, with some rough spots.
drop me a note if you think you might join up.

Ed
