MS Tag-O-Rama

I have watched the other TOR's and wanted to play, so I got a bike and am ready!

First, the rules: (Taken mostly from our neighbors in the Alabama TOR, but open to edits and changes as the game evolves.)

Rules are easy...

EDIT: Rules edited June 28, 2009:

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). As of June 27, 2009, the MS-TOR now has a mascot. The one with the mascot, gets the tag. When claiming a tag, photo must include your bike WITH THE MASCOT VISIBLE.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location, get the photo, place the mascot, and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

#3 - Tag must be findable. Dirt roads are allowed. Please use the Dirty-Diesel Scale (or DDS) when appropriate.

0= nice paved road
1= rough older paved road
2= maintained gravel road
3= maintained dirt road
4= unmaintained dirt or gravel road
5= double track jeep trail

#4 - No whining. If you have a valid suggestion to improve the game, we can listen to that. If you just wanna bitch and moan because you got Bruce'd, do it elsewhere.

Quick and dirty, just to get the game going!

HINTS:

DDS info: paved roads, but gravel parking lot

Good place to grab some BBQ.

Located on a 3 digit highway that adds up to 12.

Just off a 2 digit highway that adds up to 7.

Ha... That is about 1/2 a mile from my house. Too bad I'm feeling lazy right now.

Howdy, Neighbor!

Love it so far. Only have a little over 70 miles on it so far.

I hope this game will help me get more break-in done!!

Once we get more people involved, we can vote on canned tags, time limits to post a new tag, etc. But we need to get players in first.

Alright... here we go. Made me get out of my hammock.

Glad you are enjoying the KLR. I had a blast with the 2003 I had. They are great bikes and the price is hard to beat.

I rode north east from the last tag,
saw the normal crowd passing with chrome and dew rag.
But stopped short of their destination,
Choosing a site that to them would cause hesitation.
But not for those here on ADV,
The tag to find is near Hwy forty-_____.
It's the entrance to several miles of dirt,
But watch out the ruts when muddy can hurt.

OK... DDS, paved roads to the tag, but you can jump on the dirt roads here and ride for a bit.

Never heard of a tag-o-rama. But I am new to the site.
I readf your clues, and knew where it was before seeing the photo.
This could get interesting. Hopefully I can get a tag.

I almost know where the next one is, but want get to ride to it, maybe next one.
I bet rezsailor, could get the next one.

I rode past there yesterday on my maiden voyage! I almost put the first tag at the entrance to Turcotte.

Glad to see you guys getting started, i have enjoyed the Alabama Tag-O-Rama so far. Look out if it gets close to that state line cause these Alabama Taggers are serious about riding some miles.

Good luck, Safe riding, and maybe i will come grab that MS Tag and carry it around a little.

The first TOR I came across was the Valley group and then I started following the Alabama one since I am pretty familiar with the geography and history. I hope this one takes off like those have!!

When you find the tag why not give us the name and location.

yes, once a tag is found, please provide the location so i can add them to the Map I started (see my signature for link). I have my first one at the BBQ place on there and once someone grabs the second one, I'll add it. Also, let me know if the link to the map does not work correctly.

The first tag was at Smokehouse BBQ on highway 471. Just south of Highway 25 (Lakeland Drive) in Brandon. (You can see 25 in the background of one of the pics.)

First thing you will need is a photo hosting account. I use Google picaso, but may use flicker and many other free photo hosting sites.

You upload your pics to that site and they will provide you with a link to use for posting them here. Basically you put the URL of the photo location between image tags (the [IMG] link to your pic goes here [/IMG]

And there you go. Just ask if you need more help.
