TAG!

I left a note.

Speeling congradulations iz harde

EDIT: Before anybody gets bitchy about me being a litterbug, I work just down the road from the tag location on a regular basis. If nobody picked it up, I'll get it next time I go that way. edit off.

New tag has been placed already.

New Tag

Ok, so I've learned something today. Don't go and get a tag without having a new tag in mind, especially if you're under a bit of a time crunch.

After getting Ug (Did we ever settle on a name?), I wandered around aimlessly for an hour trying to find a good spot. Time was running short and I wanted to keep it close to Jackson so the tag could be moved several times over the weekend.

This tag is located north of tag #2, but south of tag #7.

Pictures:

Now to find the rat, walk to the North end of the parking lot. There stands a big ole pine tree.

Face the water.

Walk toward the water. There are some rocks near the bank of the river. The rat is hiding there.

Ok, Ug now has a new home. He is hanging out near this "Cenutury plant," google it. If you pay close attention you'll notice he also has a view of some nice big buildings.

Here is the big clue... LISTEN UP- (this back area is a construction zone- drive slow and look for nails) Pull around/ behind the "Parlor" where Shannon is walking. Park near the black iron gate /keypad, but don't block the gate. The locals are used to sight seers b/c of this interesting plant.

Since it was so stinking hot out today we got Ug a cold refreshing drink. He was last seen gulping down Cola from a Chik-fil-a cup. He did NOT go inside the gate, but he is hiding about 15 feet from the plant.

Now somebody find him!

Shannon, it was good to meet you today. It was quite a ride at almost 200 miles on thumpers in 100 degree heat, not to mention that deputy chasing us...

I figured of all the MS ADV'ers, y'all would be the ones to put Ug somewhere off the beaten path, what with the dirt bikes and all...

Nice tag anyway

We planned to meet up and get him first early today. I plotted a not-so-direct route that had some good twisties. Since we were on dirt bikes I wanted to avoid highways. We were then going to super buzz on up toward North Misssissippi to try to be more fair in the placing but... we got bruced! Next time I'll take the bike bike and the interstate.

We left and went for a ride in the forest and had lunch at Wards. We kept checking to see where he would pop up at. We found him pretty quickly. Brian showed up minutes too late. We decided to it was too late and hot for us to find a good dirt worthy home, so this mouse was city bound.

Nice Ride!

Thanks Daniel for the adventure. It was great riding with you, as well. Even though it was hot, we were determined to get Ug. It was a thrill. I know the heat was rough, but you were a trooper!
Thanks goes out to BackwoodsKLR, for starting this TOR!
I will be riding soon back up The Trace, to explore those dirt roads, past Riverbend.

You know at some point it would be fun to do a meet. Put faces to all the "gnarly adventurers" round these parts

Could maybe do a lunch meet or dinner meet sometime?

I vote for lunch. Hell, with enough warning, I'd be glad to host it. That is if Wolfy doesn't mind riding all the way across the street in this heat (and helping with some cooking).

But a central location would be better I suppose. I saw you Jackson folks had a dinner a while back, but it's hard to make it down and back on a week night and still be on time for work the next day.

Maybe a Saturday lunch sometime then?

Good job moving the tag around, fellers!!

I think we missed a grab photo somewhere. When you pick up a tag, please post that pic AND describe where it was so I can update the map and other readers will know where it was.

I am guessing one of the tags above was Riverbend on the trace?
