My Zumo is dead
It's been fine. Not great, but, fine. I love the bluetooth phone feature. XM is not important. MP3's aren't that important anymore since I now use my iPhone for that.
Maybe, switch to a zumo 660, but, there are things about my old 276c I miss. Mostly, I find the Zumo to be so dumbed down. What else is out there? Is there a chartplotter style GPS that also has bluetooth phone capability? Magellen? TomTom seems dumbed down too, but.... thanks levain screwed with this post 06-08-2009 at 11:07 AM |

Garmin is exchanging for a refurb'd unit for $150. Not bad for a Zumo that has been abused the last couple years. YeeHawww

Try plugging it into your PC via the USB cable then turn your PC off and let it sit overnight, it usually wakes them right up (don't ask me why).

The interface is simplified. I wouldn't call it dumbed down and I don't miss the old Garmin OS at all.
Pull the battery and then reinstall it. It's a known issue. |

thanks, guys. I've already sent it in for a refurb'd unit. I did try the battery trick, updating with the webupdater, wiping it clean and rebooting, calibrating the touch screen. I tried.
Simplified is putting it mildly... I like the Zumo, but, if I could've had everything the 276c did, plus everything Zumo does, it'd be the ultimate. It's all a compromise in the end, and, I'm fine with the compromise. |
