276c screen going dark

What Ive noticed is when my 276c get hot in the sun the screen goes really dark and near impossible to read, once cool its fine again. Ive had a 276c for many years; but the current one is around a year old.

Anyone else noticed this? is it a characteristic of newer screens because I don't recall this happening before...

I have seen the same thing on my 276C which is at least three years old. Losing contrast due to heat is a normal characteristic of many screen technologies. I think it just gets worse as the screens age. Was your 276C a refurb?

Mine has also started losing the backlight setting. The slider will be on maximum brightness but the screen will be dark. To cure that I have to go to the brightness screen and move the slider down to the bottom, exit the screen, go back to the screen and move the slider to the top and then it seems to be working as it should.

Yes, mine was a refurb (due to internal battery failure). I just don't remember the original doing the same thing and I've been some pretty warm places!

Looks like I'll have to break out the aluminium foil this summer
