If you'd read the post I linked to, you'd see nudity is considered porn in this site. Hey, I liked it as much as anyone else - just warning the guy.

Didn't last long, anyway...

a REAL Africa Twin

Motu,

That is such a beautiful motorcycle! I rarely find photos of that machine, especially ones that are actually ridden.

Yours appears to be well kept. Good onya! I never realized the XRV was originally shaft-driven. Way cool!

Are the exhaust canisters original? They have an interesting design...

Cheers mate! The next time I hoist a pint, I'm toasting you for such a cool, unique, ADVENTURE-oriented scoot!

This is my 3rd atempt at this reply,a new XP user getting frustrated!

The XLV 750 is not common over here either, but some are around, they are getting old though (1986) and starting to disapear.Try a google with Honda XLV 750,that will pick up a few sites,Youngie has a site, but has a lock on it.We have a Yahoo group and I get several emails a day, just organising a tank and seat from Oz.

I love it,but don't go off road,it's too tall and heavy for puny me.It's a rouge bull on back roads though, snorts and stamps it's feet, thunders out of turns with a bellow, dirt and rocks flying,it's a scary monster!

Mostly standard, cept for the silly screen and hand guards. The paint job is mine, should have a black tank with maroon sides, black headlamp, black side covers.K&N filter, rejetted, ceramic headers, and yes those cans are not original.I made those myself, can't you tell! They have helmholtz chambers inside, next time I will make the chambers adjustable externaly.I had it dynoed before and after, makes the same power as the open system I made first. But I can't use the original stainless can covers with these.

48hp at the rear wheel, best thing about the motor is the power curve and the way it revs.Max torque at 5500rpm,max hp at 7000rpm,but between 7 & 8 grand it only drops a couple of hp,rev limiter at 8250.So you can change gear where ever you like, don't feel like shifting in the middle of a corner, just leave it there and shift at 8,on gravel, just let it over rev when it breaks loose.

An unusual Honda V twin, developed from the RS 750 flat tracker,it's a 45deg V,with the same bore and stroke as HDs XR750,air cooled and dry sump, oil carried in the front down tubes.Hydraulic lifters and a shaft drive.Mine has done 90,000km,the main problems being electical and carb diaphrams.

It's still a comprimise, too big for any serious use, even gravel roads are a handfull, but then what 400cc dirt bike will get me where I want to ride,or what tourer can you unleash that much power on in marginal traction.I'll stay with it.

Those come up on yahoo auction here in Japan from time to time for a pretty low price. Look like great bikes as long as you can get parts.
