I collected this on Monday, only just managed to sneak out for a couple of hours on it this evening. It's awesome.

First bike

New rider from Norway.

After more than a decade of dreaming, I finally bought my first bike two weeks ago : A 1992 Honda NTV 650 Revere. At that time bike had only run 12 300 km and had just been equipped for touring. Sadly, I doubt that I'll find this season for a longer road trip.

I almost bought my brother's first gen F650 (which was basically a pegaso) when he sold it. I may still some day get a f650gs twinplug, as the singleplug one I borrowed for a month was a total blast to ride, even with its surging throttle.

The twinplug was a very good change BMW did to Rotax engine.

my 1993 XR650L. 99% chance it will be going on Craigslist within the next week or 2.

My first

Bought my first bike, the long wait is over ... well, almost over - currently doing my driving licence. Hopefully couple of weeks and I can take it for a spin :). But "winter is coming" and most likely no long rides in this year.
Cant wait to put the ADV rider sticker and couple of thousand miles on this thing ;).

phew. nice beautiful brand new machine. I *HIGHLY* recommend you buy a cheap used beater bike in the 250-650 cc range, something naked (eg, no plastic fairings), thats pre-dropped, and learn to ride on it, as you almost certainly WILL drop your bike a few times at low to no speed in the first couple months, and it would be shame to scrape up that purdy thing. and expensive (mirrors, bar ends, pegs, brake/clutch levers all cost $$$ on beemers).

when you're comfortable riding, you can probably sell said beater-bike for what you paid for it.
