That's me on BB

His name is BB
Black Bee | Bloody British | Brusk Boy | Broken Bones | Bushy Beard | His name is as versatile as the himself :)

The shot is done on a tripod, timer, in one of Floyd Bennet Airfield's abandoned hangars in NYC.

During the last "big one" in NYC. I rode that day ~10 miles around Prospect Park in Brooklyn after shoveling BB out of that white ditch :) Then I dropped BB when I was trying to park it back :)) Then I got the engine guards.

WTF? Is all of that necessary? How long will it take you to figure out what all of it is for, and will you die in a crash trying to engage it all as you ride? I'm sure it's cool to have, but really?

I had my (perfectly wonderful) 2001 1150GS in to the dealer yesterday to have them read a fault code in my ABS that I apparently caused when I installed new stainless steel brake lines. All is fine, it cost $30 to test it and clear the fault and the ABS functions perfectly now . While they did that I drooled over the new W/C 1300GS and marvelled at all the gizmos and gadgets. All I could think was, better get the extended warranty; how long will all that shite function as designed? I guess I'm just getting and am apparently not an "early adopter" of whiz-bang electronics on a bike. I do admit, though, that fuel injection is a vast improvement and I really like disc brakes .

That said, here's my new baby - only got 150 miles on her so far but I am REALLY liking this bike! It feels like a bicycle after getting off the GS.

I've also ridden my GS through all this stuff and it did fine too, just had to pay a little more attention. I need to find some real gnarly stuff and test out the WR . The WR250R is my 45th motorcycle in 50 years of riding.

I visited the BMW/Triumph/Ural/Husqvarna dealership in Salem, VA yesterday and was amazed to see two W/C GSs and three 1200GSAs on the floor. I thought the new 1300GSs were kinda hard to find? They had a killer selection of Triumphs and Huskys, and tons of BMWs, but only one Ural.

Nice photo of Canyonlands and the White Rim Trail! When I lived in Wyoming we used to go down there a couple times a year, absolutely phenomenal riding. I've ridden bicycles and motorcycles around the WRT, it's just the coolest thing. A buddy of mine is there right now, damn him.

Any bike is a wonderful thing, I'm not picky!

Doug
