I have a spinal cord injury that prevents me from shifting gears with my foot so I am limited to scooters and the thumb shifting Spyder. I still feel I am blessed as I still get to ride!

How about motorcycles with automatic transmission?
Have you heard / tried them before?

I have but I can't swing my leg over to get on/off. Scooters are easiest and I can climb on the Spyder since it has 3 wheels.

Props to you, and a thought. I know there are some companies that make air shifter kits. I'm thinking if you found a bike you liked, but it was foot shift, you might be able to install a generic air shift kit, which I believe are thumb operated.

mine came out of a year long nap for a nice ride this last weekend... finally broke 90K miles on the 300 mile way home from Warped Trip IX...

it hasn't been properly washed or waxed in a couple years. still has a few scrapes and scars from a minor lowside awhile back and all the drops on dirt and ice its had over the years. still runs pretty good.

yeah, but I'm not anymore. I used to think nothing of 700 mile days back to back, now 300 miles of back roads has my right elbow and hand screaming ARTHRITIS at me.

I think I'm gonna clean this beast up and sell to someone who wants a LD sports-tourer, and find something smaller/lighter, maybe a 650 thumper or thereabouts. I don't need to go 120.
