BTW, I'm game for a tech day. I have been thinking about the sad reality that I will be stranded if I get a flat.

UPS just dropped of my new tail trunk bag... Too bad I don't have a bike to put it on and fill with tools and road goodies...

Ride to Gatesville and Hopewell

Two bridges
Gatesville Pearl River Bridge

Same bridge North

Old Gatesville Bridge

Hopewell Pearl River Bridge, South

Hopewell Pearl River Bridge, North

This ride introduced me to many other side road possibilties yet to be explored.

Great areas. I did a route a couple years ago starting near the beginning of the Pearl and zig-zaged crossing every (open) bridge crossing the Pearl to the southern end. It was a great day of riding and a bunch of nice bridges. You are right about a whole new world of side roads. Amazing what is out there if we just take time to look.

Here are a few pics from that ride.

I don't know if this qualifies for this thread since I am not on my bike and not in MS, but tomorrow morning after breakfast I hope to find my way to Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and checkout the 1000+ bikes on display...

Wow, Trophy. I like the pics. Thats cool. I find the Old closed roads, leading to the old crossings, the most scenic. I like to stop and imagine a time past.
Where did your ride start, and end, exactly. I want to take that ride.
Maybe one of our future rides, could be themed, "ZiggZaggin' the Pearl,"
just an idea.

Started up in Edinburg and ended in Perlington. It was pretty much all paved. Took 12 hours or so. It was more of a trip for the Trophy (that no longer lives in my garage). Not sure it would be something for the dual sport group, but it was a fun little diversion.
