If it is blue locktite, just break it loose. If it is red locktite, heat it with that handy heat gun you have. Red locktite generally has to be melted or at least softened to release. At times I've had to take a pencil torch to the center of an allen bolt with locktite on it. If you keep the flame in the allen hole of the bolt head, the heat will tend to transfer down the shank of the bolt and melt the locktite without transferring too much heat to any surrounding components.

Yeah I still have it. Just put a transmission on it, a new shock, and replacing the forks and triple tree. And maybe some new paint. Getting it all ready for spring.

So I cleaned them as instructed.




This fell off something.






Next, a close inspection for ware.

This is the damaged input shaft.







I wonder what these marks are used for?



To my untrained ete the rest of the shaft looks good.









I don't yet know what these marks are for.









Is that dark line normal?

The clean notches on the large gear seem like they belong there. The ware on the small gear does not.





The small gear also shows what I believe is either polishing ware or mild abrasion type ware.



The dogs look good.





Again with the abrasive ware.





















That I belive is a normal ware pattern.
