the rmxz was ment to be an off road racing bike not an adv bike
and for that it seems to work out ok in the woods, but for the desert thats a different story i had planned on looking at one as my next bike but the same tank and no way to get much bigger was a deal killer for me. i'm ow looking at other makes for my next bike

Rmx450z
This is a great bike. And for those of you who think that it is not a viable dual sport option i propose this. Take your 990 adventures on some of the trails we ride in Idaho, and tell me you would not want a smaller, more light weight bike. As for the weight, it lists curb weight as 272, with fuel and the stock tank. My bike weighs 279 on the vets scale with the IMS 2.6 gal tank full of fuel. Top speed is 87 mph with the stock gearing of 13-51. First gear right now is extremely slow, I hardly ever use it, so I will update after i change the gearing to 14-48. Thanks

Nice looking bike ... too bad they discontinue it after only 1 model year.
It seems like only Yamaha and the Euros are now interested in making off-road bikes. |

"In Italy where I live (but I reckon in whole Europe) all the enduro bike must be street legal (that's why husqvarna, beta, ktm, and such are street legal even in the USA).
Here the Suzuki RM, RMZ and DRZ400E are imported by Mr. Valenti (www.valentiracing.it). He will sell the new RMX450Z enduro/supermoto, street legal, with passenger pegs." Is RMX-450Z Valenti register in italy samekind as street or have there offroad bikes some otherkind register? ...Same register big EU-plates, must be Euro 3 pollution level in engine, must be steering lock against thiefs, 2 mirrors, killer cluth in sidestand or automatic spring etc... In Finland Suzuki dealer says at Suzuki RMX 450Z cant get street legal, factory dont give COC provment for register inspection... but Valenti Suzuki is little different thing.. New color Finland 2013, price little bit cheaper than KTM samekind. http://www.suzukifinland.fi/mp/rmx450z.php Test in Finland 2010 RMX 450Z wet weight was 121,5kg but no one knows was it little bit tuned before test. Serious enduro racers here usually makes they racebikes from RMZ450.

The RMX 450 Z was only available 1 year in the USA because it could not pass the emissions / pollution requirements.
