Just remember to stay off these backroads as they are awful crooked. See ya in a bit fer more Hillbilly ridin'

This Yankee has sampled some of the above and agree....it's just awful! I would never want to come down there and retire on top of one of those hills with the ugly views and all...I guess then I would be a Damn Yankee

New Tag !

With a little of this ( which is not the tag shot but across the road from Pink Plemmons)

You may be able to find this this which IS the tag shot:

And coming in from the left is the AT, following the NC/TN line at this point but there is not currently a sign for it. Ahead of my bike used to be known as "The Gulf" in TN but is now named for a lady. Behind my bike and the road where my bike sits is this:

Now, you do not need a KTM or such machine to get here but a dual sport would be nice. I was on the KTM as I had been down thru the hurricane earlier. Just hug yor machine real good coming up from the cool waters. Ahead of my bike in the tag shot, if you are unfamiliar, is good dual sporting. Stay right on the main graveled tracks and keep right and you will come out about a quarter of a mile below a patch where the AT crosses again. Stay to the left ahead of my bike and keep left on the main tracks and you will come out in a little TN town and there is some good Bar B Q there and an entrance to the super slab. From that place, if you are really adventurous, you can even get back to lgajohnnymac's tag if you are a gravel grinder like me.

Right...please don't go on down the road a couple miles to the Trust Cafe'. You should avoid http://trustgeneralstore.com The food is awful and I am going there tomorrow and going to eat all I can so there won't be anything else for anybody else to have to eat Awful stuff. Just awful. It was so bad the last time that I could not believe how bad it was so I had to eat seconds just to be sure

A note about Pink Plemmons Store:

The last time this store was operated, it was under new ownership, and not operated by Pink Plemmons but rather a mother and daughter as a part-time gift shop. It was known, the sign is still at the top of the store, as " A Little bit o' Luck". The daughter was not well and this provided her a wonderful outlet for her arts and crafts. I think there is a sign just down the road with something about this, but I gots my info from a local friend.

only problem with "...retire on top of one of those hills with the ugly views..." is that we're tired of looking at mountains with the top clearcut so somebody can see from their damn retirement palace ... and leaving the damn lights on 24/7/365 so when I want to look at the sky at night I have a big chunk of light pollution right there

why not build a bit lower and blend it in ... we like seeing the mountains, not farggin houses ....

oh dang

who kicked that soapbox under my virtual feets?

lemme step off'n it and get back on the road

sorry for the vent folks
