DARC II Adventure Ride, June 14th, 2015, Woodstock, VT

DARC (Dirty Adventure Riders Club) II will be held out of Woodstock, VT on Sunday June 14th. Fred Scott will lead us on a early summer tour of Vermont's best back roads and scenic mountains. The ride will include a lunch stop at one of Fred's choice locations. Dirt roads with a mix of class IV woods roads. Knobbies highly recommended. This will be a "dirt oriented" multi-surface adventure ride. Street legal from the factory (registered, inspected and insured), QUIET (no aftermarket mufflers), Four Stroke only Adventure and Dual Sport bikes with all working street legal equipment. Yes, that means turn signals, horn, mirrors, etc. ****** no numbers on your side covers****** Local police and non-bike friendly residents with cell phones will be in the area. Don't give them a reason to complain. ATGATT is mandatory. Dress for the crash, not the ride.

The ride will cover approximately 100+miles consisting of about 85% dirt roads/15% tar with the emphasis on Vermont scenery.

Start location is: 525 Woodstock Rd in West Woodstock which is route 4. Pull into Meadow Way and take first left at the green barn. If you come to the Ottauquechee Motor Lodge you've gone too far. Ride will start at 9:00am. Fuel up before the ride.

Meadow Way is on Rt 4 between Woodstock and Bridgewater. It is on the right side of the road heading West toward Bridgewater across from the Ottauquechee River which parallels Rt 4. The location will be marked with a string of KTM flags at the junction of Meadow Way and Rt 4.

***Only quiet bikes please*** Camping available Saturday night. Come up and enjoy Fred's fire pit while sitting under the stars.

Shucks man - I'm registered for a triathlon on the 14th. I was all set to come to the first one this weekend, too. Hopefully the third time is a charm!

That's actually a GS 800 BMW. It's always a toss up and weather dependent. In the open sections you'll be happier on the DR and happier on the EXC on the class IV roads. You can always ride a smaller, lighter machine on the roads but you can't always ride a bigger, heavier machine in the woods. Your decision.
