Bought this beauty for 290,- €, put in some used parts, I had in stock and bought some engine parts for about 60,- €, to rebuild the engine. Crankshaft was broken and the gearcross worn out. Found a good used crankshaft for 25,- € and took the used and still good gearcross from my sprint engine, which I rebuild last year with a new one.

It is a Vespa PX 80 E from 1982 with a 135cc DR Kit. Now it is my low budget daily rider.

Made some upgrades, but I am still pretty good under 1.500,- €:

- engine with 177 cc (DR)
- sip-speedo with rev
- front rack
- clear glass headlight with halogen bulb
- luggage hooks on the floorboard
- front shock (adjustable)
- some stickers :-)

Paid $300 for this '88 Hawk GT this weekend. Chain is WAY past its' useful life which led the PO to surmise his tranny was shot. Turns out the chain is so loose it jumps teeth on the rear sprocket. I was just going to buy it to part out when I thought the tranny was bad, but now I am going to get it back on the road. Should take me about $500 in parts (and a few hours work) to pass inspection/make fully road worthy. W00t!!!

Can't remember if I posted this or not. 1980 GS550. Paid $200. It runs, just needs TLC. I wanted a smaller bike than my 82 GL1100 to run the back roads.

Thinking of "Scrambler-ing" it.

I paid $40 for this 73 Yamaha TX750. It had a locked up motor. I literately bought it for the tool kit that was correct for my 72 Yamaha XS650. I was going to sell what ever part's I could and scrap the rest.

I posted a picture of it on xs650.com. Someone there ended up giving me a free motor/part's bike. A little elbow grease, and some vinegar to de-rust the chrome,,,,, and Badda Boom,,Badda Bing!! It still needs some ironing out, but it turned out pretty good for a $40 bike.
