Old school "Enduro"

Bought this for $400 in early October:

Spent another $250 on new tires and tubes, chain, battery, carb. kit, oil and filter, sparkplug, grips and signals. Had 660 miles on it when I bought it, I've put over 1200 miles on it in three weeks. Been having a great time!

81 Yamaha 650 $5

That is right. I bought it at an auction for $5. I put $520 into it. My Neighbor used it for a 60 mile commute for about six months. Then I used it to teach Jen (crazy chick in picture) to ride.

My friend Ty rode it from Portland to Kellogg, ID. and back a few times...

Then some tweeker took it apart to "fix it" while Ty was is jail and it never lived again. GREAT BIKE. I wish the crazy chick had only cost me $520

My '72 Yamaha DS7.
A buddy gave it to me about 5 years ago, after it sat in his shed for several years before that. I started fixing it up this past Feb. To get it to the condition you see here has me into it for just under $1k.

When I got her...

Ok here's some pics, first the 83 that is my daily rider.

Just got it back to my parent's place, plan is leave it there for the week so I can get insurance and come back the following week and ride it 200km home.

Back home with a new seat and other minor stuff

New paint job by my friend Randy and hibiscus sticker donated by my friend Tarah (she has them all over her track bike).

A couple pics of the 84 parts bike that i tracked.

Great Bikes!!

Here's mine: I got a 1982 Goldwing Aspencade that hadn't run in 3+ years free (from an uncle). It had varnish in the tank, both calipers were stuck, the rear master cyclinder was not working, and the rear brake lever was rusted in place. It had rust ALL over it. Here's the 'before' picture:

http://www.prairieroad.com/wing/Bike_32906_5.jpg

I spent about 1/2 year getting it cleaned up and finally had to send the carbs away to get cleaned/synched. Now it purrs like a kitten. I pulled all the 'BLING' off the wing so it's mostly stock now. (Except I painted the emblems black). I put over 2000 miles on it last summer drive to work every sunny day and on one all-day trip to Red Wing, Minnesota. Here's the after picture:

I have put about $800.00 into her so far. Most of that was having the carbs done.

I don't even like cruiser bikes but thought it would be stupid not to buy this one. Bought it off Craig's list with 14 total miles. Didn't expect the guy to accept my offer of $500 but he did. Might sell it for a tidy profit the next time gas hits $4. I've had good luck with my Lifan dual sport bike and the engine on this is a Lifan. Kind of cute and brand new. $2199.00 regular price new.

71 & 73 Honda 350CLs; $350 & $750

This spring my SO and his friend decided to buy a couple bikes and run around Lake Huron under $1000, bikes, fixes and trip expenses. The friend picked up a 74 Honda 360CL for $250, that needed a total rebuild. My less mechanically inclined SO picked up the 71 Honda 350CL shown below for $350. It was running but it smokes out of one of the pipes.

I wanted in on the action and found the 73 Honda 350CL with mini-apes. I paid $750 but mine was running well, good for the even less mechanically inclined. At least I thought she ran well, until we got her over 50 mph... well actually she won't go over 50 mph. I think all she needs is a little carb work though.

Didn't get to do the trip this year. My hubby faceplanted in the side of a truck and the friend got engaged and hitched over the summer.

The ride is on tap for next summer though! Here's Ohno on his '71 and my '73 as we bought them:

I bought a 2002 CBR600F4I a couple of months ago for $1200. It's a little rough around the edges, been tracked and been down a few times from the look of it. It has aftermarket body work and 15,000 miles.
I don't mind the looks because it runs and handles great.

Well I bought this bike for exactly 1500 I didn't need to do anything to it but start riding.

82 Honda CX500 Custom

I bought the next two bikes for $800.00 a 78 Honda CX500 Deluxe(Parts Bike) and a 79 Honda CX500 Custom.

After taking the hard luggage off and the Faring, and new set of tires, a seat cover later.

I bought it for my Daughter to Ride.

the 1100`s were the best sounding of all the wings. these bikes are still amazing 30 years later. i have late model touring bikes but i often find myself choosing the gl 1100 when going solo. they are comparitively light, handle decent, and, like all gold wings, are suited to eating up miles.
ride that sucka!!!!!

Just found her on Craigslist, had it delivered to my door. It runs, but needs lots of TLC. It's a 1971 Honda CB750. =) Let the restoration begin!
