Because I had an '83 and the 90 era's are even cooler. Checking specs, it has pretty much the same power output as the Bandit. Weird as it sounds, if I traded the Bandit, it would probably be for a less powerful bike....

I am in again:

700 Euros for a Z1000J with a knackered frontend, that was sorted with another 70 Euros... now it's just a bit of cleaning and probably spend some extra cash on a good (used) seat, as for mine, the seatpan is knackered pretty much beyond any hope.

(pictures are clickable...)

So all in all, incl. registering, I will total at about 1100 Euros...

Cheers,
Greg

Wink not really road warrior....

I know its not really a road warrior, its a beast. I brought my xtz750 super tenere. I got it from a short arse guy who just couldn't get on it. Price 550 pounds, on the road. Came with braided hoses, cut down seat covered woth old leather jacket, and kangoo's. Put new chain and sprockets, tkc's, extra lights, renewed the paperwork and insurance. I made panniers afrom two ammo crates and a home built rack. All ready to go stood me at 950 pounds so about 1500$. I rode down to mauritainia form the UK. No problems really, even met a guy on a 20k euro gs adv 1200 who couldnt go any further beacuse of the poor quality fuel. His panniers and rack cost more than my and my mate's bikes combined!

I bought my first bike, a 1978 Yamaha XS750 in 2006 for $800 from a co-worker going through a divorce. My first year, I put over 14,000 Km while working 75 hours a week as a Paramedic. I sold it in March of 2007 for $1600. Used that $$ for a downpayment on my '07 Vulcan 900 Classic LT.

Wish I'd kept it...the vintage bike enthusiast who bought it has not treated her right. Hindsight is 20/20.

I had a bit of a brainfart last week and bought this 1984 RZ250 off fleabay for $800.
It looks better in the photo's than in real life. Not sure what I will do with it, may just get it running and clean it up and sell it on.

Could make it into this
