KILLIN' ME! I wanted an '86 so bad...then they came out with the 'improved look', left it like that for decades and it does nothing for me. :(

The latest ones, though, remind me more of the '86. Great Find!

let's see if this pic of 99 Probs shows up...

$600, lot's of TLC and a pair of Shinkos.

That looks like a ridiculous good deal if it's for real, even if he wants more than $1500.00.

99 KLR, I bought in 2007 for $500. I watched it sit in the parking lot next to my work for a year. It wouldn't start for the owner after sitting for so long. Cleaned out the tank, changed all the fluids and cleaned the carb, then rode it for almost a year.

Friend of mine notified me about it. Looked at it twice and talked her down from original asking price. Good shape, just a bad fuel pump. Working to get the tank cleaned out and slip a new pump in.

Took me a month of inhaling various cleaning chemicals, cursing more than a sailor and using my fingers in ways I never thought was humanly possible, but finally got it running like a champ. Rode it 100 miles today for it's maiden voyage and just cruises. Put about $100.00 between plugs, seafoam, Yamaha carb cleaner to clean the injectors/fuel pump/fuel rail and some caswell to seal the inside of the tank. Scary fast.

And to think...I wanted an FZ1. Completely bonkers.

Great score!

I had a 04 in blue and enjoyed its fun motor and crazy fuel mileage, 50+ even working it

There is a recall on counter shaft nut that is a must fix, check with local Yamaha dealer to run vin and see if it was done. Very important, as nut backs off and can strip splines. Best case is you stop slowly, worst case is...much faster.

Picked up this 1982 Kawasaki 1100 survivor for free. All of 1696 miles on her and full of 25 year old fuel goo. Tore it apart and filled the house with that lovely varnish smell the wimminz just can`y get enough of...

Bought this 1975 XS650 for $700 a year ago. I have since painted it and gone through the engine. It's in the shop getting mechanically checked so I can ride it on some vintage rides this coming year.
