$1500

I know it says <1500 but after I sell the Topcase, side Panniers, and Fairing I believe I will be well under $1500.Just picked up 1985 K100RT with 15000 miles on it.Kid who bought it several weeks ago realized he preferred GSs.Origonal owner before him had just spent $7,700 on it to bring it back to life.Fuel pump, caliper bebuild, new rear shock, front fork seals, all new fuel lines, coolant flush...on and on what this guy spent.I wanted to find a K that was damaged so I could buy it cheap and turn it into a Naked...well at least I dont have to spent a lot of time on the powertrain.
PS sorry no pics,I do not use a web account for pics.

I got this one for $800 added a XR400R front end the rear rack and the ammo cans and i'm still under $1500

and i got this little thing for $300. cleaned the rust out of the tank gave it a new plug and she runs.

Where did you get that seat pad. I want one for my SP250 to keep my ass from sliding all over the place. Kinda looks like one of those car seat massage pads.

It's an ATV seat pad. Walmart, and your local ATV shop should have a few choices.

Eh, these are good for 200K+ with no engine change. (and there's more than one).

Threads like that kill dreams. If you want all your dreams killed, go get married.

Seems to me I've read a few of those but I can't remember specific examples. Now, I know I've seen a whole bunch of people post different problems they've had with their bikes and the ADV community has contributed all the best advice they can every time

If you really want to see a thread like that, you can always start one. If you're not in that situation yourself but just want to hear the stories, I'd recommend doing so down in the basement and you'd probably want to wear some asbestos underwear

No not in that situation myself, and don't really want to read that thread if it existed, its just impressive how goss the deals get. I know a couple guys who have multiple bikes in this thread have mentioned they have had some unsuccessful flips... The great ones just seem to out weigh the bad

That was the ADV price on the FZ-1, and yes the millage was why it had such a low price but it was a one owner bike and he had the full service record.

The seat bad is from Walmart. it's in the small atv section they have for like 12 bucks. I ended up having to add a little more padding under it just because the seat foam is shot but it defently helps the butt. gives you something to move around on and move the pressure points. makes 200 to 300 mile days on the old bike possible.

Thanks for the info on the seat pad. My seat was redone, but it doesn't make the 'ol banana seat any more comfortable.
