Great thread!
She's loved riding pillion ever since we met three years ago, and has always wanted to ride herself. Well she took her MSF Basic Rider Course last weekend and got off her former mount Charger and onto Killer the XT225 for a spin around the yard. Go, girl!
![]() Check out the ATGATT - I've been trying to convince her that it's important and the MSF instructors confirmed it, so now she's a believer. It was 90 degrees and about 92% humidity so this inaugural ride didn't last long. This is a great thread! I'm very proud of her for overcoming some pretty deeply held fears and reservations about her abilities. I suspect I'm not alone in congratulating anyone who takes a step like that, male or female. Doug

The two loves of my life
Here is a picture of my partner, Lex and of our bike taken at a beach near Nelson in New Zealand. Lex had never been on a bike before we got together six years ago and today she is getting ready to sit her licence. She is a great pillion, so good in fact I have to check she is still on the bike some times. Riding together keeps us together. Looking forward to many years together.

I somehow convinced her to take the MSF class with me on the idea that if she was riding two up with me it would be in her best interest to know what was what happening. By the end of the first range session, which she was scared to death of at first, she plainly stated that she wanted her own bike - end of discussion. She ended up with her bike before I got mine, and is on her second one before me too. Who's the spoiled one in this relationship? Not that I am complaining at all!
Her first bike. ![]() On our first overnight bike trip. 350 miles on the Buell for the day. She's a trooper. ![]() On her second scoot. Just a bit quicker. I have to keep reminding her to look at the speedometer! ![]() ![]() Married up I have. ;) |
