Gotta love it.

Cheers.

My girlfriend had never been on a bike before she met me, one ride and she was hooked, took he about 6 months on the back before she said she wanted her own.....Started her out on the dirt on a CRF-150 and the rest is history. She bought herself a KLX 250 SF, then a YZF 250. Latley she has been riding my Ninja 650, but she really has her eye on a 650 or 800 GS for our planned trip to Alaska next summer.

I dont think that a ring will get in the way of her twisting the throttle......but maybe i should get a pre-nup (must ride) hahahaha

Welcome to ADVrider! Great that your GF learned to love riding from you. When I met my girlfriend (now wife) she'd never even been on a bike before. After a long easy ride on my 1150GS on good dirt roads through the forests of the Wind River Range (in Wyoming), a few twisty turny asphalt miles with incredible vistas, a picnic lunch at an old fire tower high on a mountain, we returned to my house in town. Once we'd gotten our gear off and settled down for a beer and dinner, I asked how she'd liked her first motorcycle ride. "Can we ride this thing to Alaska?" was her response. I knew then and there that she was a KEEPER! She has tried riding her own bike (after taking the MSF course and acing it), but she's afraid of getting out on the open highways with all the traffic so she prefers to ride passenger whenever we go someplace. I've caught her a few times back there with her arms spread wide pretending she's a bird, or in the front seat of a roller coaster . So long as she loves to ride, I'd prefer she did it in a way she's comfortable with.

P.S. Putting a ring on her finger hasn't altered her love of motorcycling!

Doug

Well, it's a long story but the short answer is NOT YET. I've moved to Virginia and now that trip is 4000 miles longer than when I lived in Wyoming, and I have a new job where I don't earn as much leave time.

As a consolation, we live in the middle of some of the finest riding I've ever known (we're 20 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway) and we ride a lot out here. I will get to Alaska soon, though! It's on my "do before you die" list. Probably fly and ride, though, can't see spending the time riding back and forth across the Plains from here...

Doug

Beautiful! The fact that your wife wears her wedding band in a modelling photo shows a LOT of class IMHO ... congrats to you both!
