I have no intentions of doing your research for you but you might want to start here: http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/bmwturbos.htm

Luftmeister's turbo kits were made by RB Racing. I have never dealt with RB, but if you go that route, you'll need to install an older oil pump (pre 1990 on most K's).

The original motor has plenty of steam-most people just don't rev them hard enough. An aftermarket chip with a slightly higher rev limit is a nice improvement.

The K1 is really a lot of fun, surprising plenty of bikes that are faster on paper. It has a bit of a cornering clearance problem, cured with stiffer fork springs and a better shock.

Dr Curve claims that he use to out run Hyabusa's on his K1 IF they had a bit of head wind or hill. He claimed that Busa's would slowly be out pulling him but some wind or a hill would make them back shift to fifth and that is when he would get ahead. Personally, I think you are nuts seeing who can go better at 150mph+. Even in Texas!

IME, ALL non-German fork chrome pits like a mofo. Showa's do it too! They all do it except for that magic German chrome.

Color Swap

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]I always thought it would be cool to reverse the colors and paint one yellow and get red graphics made...maybe someday when the money is available to buy another one and proceed with the idea of color reversal...In the mean time I will drive what I have...red with yellow.
