The Right Line
This was posted in old school by Bill H.
It was famous for it's on-bike camera work long before that became common. Great classic trials footage in part 1...from an era before today's specialization in bike competition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ-tKC9dz7w&feature=related |

Shows my lack of Japanese! I thought they were just chatting, then there was that excitement on the dab at 3:58! Cool stuff, thanks for posting!

Pretty cool to see what they could do 25 years ago.
That was for Thumpermeister and myself to get all greased up over next time a Rothmans RTL falls into one of our laps........

I liked how the indoor stuff Lejuene was riding was more flowing and technical rather than just jaw-dropping spectacular. I understand that most audiences want to see someone like Tony Bou do that big huge stuff, but the Japanese obstacles seemed more like a riding course. None of today's riders would take a point, so the difficulty does naturally have to escalate...

Yeah that was a different time for sure and Eddy is doing a pretty good job there on a bike 30 lbs heavier then a modern RTL/4RT...the latter which itself is starting to get criticised for being a bit of a lump. Of course, that's a lump that has just won 4 consecutive World Trials Championships with Bou!

Possibly the best video ever!!
Made by a friend of mine in France... he spent a day with World Champ Toni Bou and put this together....
http://www.photobysergio.fr/video-toni-bou-piera.html ... you can see why i have been saying for years that anyone who wants to really do well at modern trials should get themselves a cycle trials bike. The techniques can be applied directly to the moto stuff.. as Toni demonstrates here. |

Don't know what to say. Except now I'm a bit bummed to have given my neighbor's son my P200E.
You're right, that was pretty cool!
