You're doing really well Eli,your score at Toronto was very good for just moving up to Intermediate.

I might suggest you lean the bike over onto your inside leg in the turns, watch the "Basic Turns" vid on the Trials Training Center website,go overboard and try to exaggerate while practicing until it's automatic.

Haha! Yeah, I keep stiff legging all the time instead of really getting my knees out and leaning the bike over. It is definitely something I need to work on. MikeC has told me several times to get my knees out. Needs to be automatic like you said. I also need to force myself to loosen up more. My Dad is building me a set of risers for my handlebars, which I am hoping will get me in a better riding position. I feel really hunched over and am constantly breaking my neck to see anything. I somehow managed to get 3rd place that day, so I was pretty stoked with that. I tell AMCross and Liz every event that as long as I don't crash and don't get last place it feels like a success to me!

I heard your name during the awards, but you had already left for the long trip back. If I remember correctly, someone was taking it home to you. Now that's service!

Looking good!

I sure do like riding that location. I just wish it wasn't such a hike for me.

About the same drive for me. I've done it once or twice a year for the last few years for MAVT events. None of our other events have a youth class... My daughters will not let us miss it.

With my move to ID I am not looking forward to that kind of driving to go to an event.

I really liked\ Toronto, but I think I enjoyed Coal Hollow event that was about 10 miles north. I think it was the first event held there this year, but I was told a National is being held there in 2015. Really nice property.

Ouch! I don't believe I have ever seen a rim explode like that.

Best rim explode I ever saw was at the `82 outdoor mx national at Castle Rock CO. Rick Johnson leading the race blows out the front hub off a huge jump. So much for Yamaha Z-spokes.

That was a good crash. I had forgotten about the z-spokes. I'll bet Rick never does.
