That would be perfect, but they don't sell to US addresses...

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...52BAdaptor.jsp This way I have all the bases covered if raining or not. Nice thing about the under the seat option is that I can leave phone, MP3, etc plugged in and under the seat for security/safety when away from the bike. Ken |

usb charger watertight
Hello,
There is an almost perfect solution for a usb charger. I have used this setup for over a year and i'm vere pleased with it. The site is in Dutch but you will get the picture ; http://www.pcnautic.nl/shop/index.ph..._id=7&Itemid=1 Also the the usb connector with cable is watertight, it's used in marine situations. Welcome to the forum.
That does look perfect. Now if I could just find someone in America who has them...

I see there's a lot of really cheap ones on e-bay, too, but they often don't list the power output, or if they do, it isn't much (1/2 amp).
If I can't find a waterproof one in the US, I'll probably go with the belkin, since it looks well built and puts out an amp.

Here is the dashboard I'm making for my KLR. It has a USB plug for the GPS I have a Delorme PN-40. ![]() I spliced my GPS cable to this one. ![]() Waterproof connector. ![]() Cap when GPS is not plugged in. ![]() I'll be installing it on the bike tomorrow and give it a try. It works fine to power the GPS and will power my phone and Ipod but will not charge them. I still need to play around with the electronics to get that to work. I have been kicking around the idea of putting some of these together to sell to inmates. I am out of work and maybe I can make a few buck to help fund some extras for the bike. Any interest? Off the top of my head cost would be around $35-$45 without the waterproof cable. Todd |

Another data point for anyone thinking about the cig lighter adapter route; I got one each of the Belkin and iLuv adapters, and they both work fine with a BB 8310, 9700, and a Razr v3m. The Belkin sticks out a little more, but is rated at a full amp where the iLuv is rated at half that. Neat solution--I already had a cigarette socket wired to an SAE plug and an SAE with an inline fuse to the battery for a trickle charger that I used with a Nokia proprietary car charger (phone long since dead), so this was a no-brainer.
