10 years

Is it really a decade?

I still remember helping out on the first PB - it feels like only yesterday.

I have less hair but at least my riding skills improved over the years.

History

Gerry and everyone: Yeah, time flies. The first PB300 was in Oct of 2005, in 2006 we did a PB300 in April and the First 500 in Oct. Some years we had 2 events and twice it was canceled, but this will be the 10th Pine Barrens Adventure Ride.

Here's a pic of the 2005 PB300 Start.

I'm working on a history section for the website. Any one want to contribute stories or pics PM me.

Jack

Looking forward to it this year Jack. :-) It's been awhile. The big Strom still has a fresh set of tires that didn't get used last year. Pre-ride's , I'm in.

PB stories

One story I do remember:
A bunch of us (8?) are riding around Quaker Bridge where kayakers usually put in. We were all dirty and "mean" looking when we happen to come upon a car with 2 kayaks on the roof stuck in the sand. There are 2 women trying to get the car out of the deep sand where they were stuck - all they saw was this bunch of "dirty" bikers headed in their direction.

The look on their faces was priceless as we circled their stuck car - almost like a scene from a horror "biker" movie. We all stopped and lifted our visors and asked if they needed help - you could hear the sigh of relief from the women a mile away.

5 minutes later with the aid of some burly bikers, the car was pushed out of the deep sand and back on the road.
