Lake George NY area to Lake Champlain (NY side) dirt roads

Lake George NY area to Lake Champlain (NY side) dirt roads.

I'm looking for some big bike friendly dirt roads so I can do a several day trip from Western MA to Lake George area and North to Lake Champlain then back south through VT.

I'm all set with the MA and VT routes all I need is to go north through NY.

If any of you have some dirt route feel free to let me know and I will try to link them together for a good route.

The Adirondacks were the playpen of the rich, then taken over by government environmentalists. There are a lot of private roads with gates and a lot of roads that have been converted to hiking trails. There are few legal dirt roads, and they mostly dead end. If you want dirt roads, come south a little bit to the Catskills which was mostly farms 100 years ago.

Thanks

That is a tough site to get through. It's spread sheets with road names and road types.

Thanks for the reply.

I love the Catskills ! I have been collecting the gps tracks I found on ADV and the thread you mentioned and will do that on another trip.

I may just have to do 2 lane back roads as I go north through NY then hit the dirt as I come south through VT
