Did I forget to tell you guys?

I factory ordered a Jetta GLI Autobahn.

Picking it up when I move home!

Consider myself "unpimped".

Well I had a chance to ride the new Aprilia. The bike is Awesome!!
Do I need it? Not unless I can mount some hard luggage on it
Do I want it? Hell Yeah!!
The engine is incredible pulls like a twin & will scream like a four. They have an Akrapovic on it for music to your ears. Second gear is a blast!
Bike pulls hard in any gear! Hits rev limiter quick in lower gears! Power shifter is nice. Spent all my time in race mode & traction control turned down
Bike handles great & brakes were good too, although lacked a little intial grab.
Suspension felt stiff on the side streets but once I hit the twisties & open road it was where it needed to be.
I really liked the seat tank junction.
Bike overall feels very tight & refined.

Cons:
Bike was a little tall
It was Yellow (matte black looks better to me)

Eurosports sent me an e-mail to demo it. I had the day off. Didn't have to ask me twice. This was the Aprilia demo bike that I beleive is getting passed around week by week to different dealers. Motorcycle Mall will have it available from 4/13-4/20/2012
Eurosports only has one, it's black & accounted for right now.

Here's a pic I took of it

Waiting for the Panigale
They're having an unveil party on the 27th

Nice red. If you want the best sounding Aprillia put the Tigcraft pipes on. Man o man you never heard anything like it. I had them on my RSV Mille and it would make your hair blow back from 20' behind the bike!

but lets face it, we all know what it means to be out on a bike, so..... any port in a storm, you know!

And I saw this and thought of you Iron!!

Yea the banana shaped swing arm. The beefy aluminun twin spar frames and the sound of those 60 degree twins. Um um. I always thought Aprillia had the best looking bikes. Still do. The Factory models even more so. I sold my RSV before two things happened though. Aprillia was rumored to go belly up then (before Piaggo bought them and f'them up imho) and or I was belly up and taking a perpetual dirt nap. Lol

the death thing is a little hard to get over, that and/or lack of a license is why I sold my ZX12R. Miss that bike. Hyper bikes have a place in the world. I don't care what anyone says. Sometimes 160mph while feeling rock steady is the only cure for what ails ya!!

looks like OEM to me..

Jason,
i know the bike is comfortable and there is no reason for you to stop (other than to refill), but how about more pictures, mate?
are there any campgrounds along your way, or they are as unusual as humans in the remote areas?

Adam,
Regarding camping out west. Most land out there is BLM land. And you can camp anywhere you want mostly. We always pick a nice spot by a creek to clean up in amd for cooking. Meaning comando camping. And ranchers lease this land and cannot restrict you from it. But Im talking stuff way off the pavement. Like 100-150 miles off. National forest land offers plenty of camping spots as well.

Back home safe. Pics will be uploaded tonight and I'll post the best plus a link to the album.

What an amazing journey. What a beautiful country we live in.

I think it will take a few days to sink in. Just awesome.
