I don't think it's hit me yet that I'm going on the biggest ride I've ever done by more than double, and through some of the best parts of the US.

Zero hour is approaching...departing 7am CST on Friday. Pics will be posted occasionally and I'll be doing a full ride report afterwards.

Biggest mileage day is Day 1...and I've got a day where I'm not travelling after my first two biggest days.

Who knows anything about NJ unemployment??

How long is one supposed to be able to collect?? I keep hearing two years, but wife is in her second year and supposedly, its set to end this summer??

Its bad enough that this years was based on last year, being on unemployment, it went down by about $700/month this year.

I hear anecdotal stories about people staying it for more than years. If there is any truth to that, we'd sure like to know how.

And the wife has been looking for a job the entire time, but when she applies for something and so do 150 other people, and half of them have masters degrees, she is pretty low in the call back ranking.

I believe its 99 weeks. (Not 100% sure).

Also, I know you can work a certain number of hours in a part time position and still collect. My mother manages some fashion boutiques and a lot of workers want to work less that 26(?) hours per week to still claim unemployment. Perhaps that's an option? Might be easier to seek that job for starters to get a foot in the door.

Thanks Jason, we have heard 99 weeks too, or maybe 96..but I think they are telling her she is not even getting that. Not sure why.

The part time thing is a joke. If you say get $400 a week on unemployment, and you go out and earn say $200 a week, they say OK, you only need $200 a week from us from now on.

And forget about calling them to try and get through and speak to someone. Near impossible....just rings and rings. And that is with the "special" numbers where you are actually supposed to get through to someone human.
