Thanks for any info.

Yeh, kinda figured that out a couple of minutes after I asked. Used it to get the Galt pic posted.

It was almost too easy.

Yo shick, and Shick's girlfriend (no intros made!)
Congrats! What happened to looking for a bonneville? Good solid bike the Ninja, Hummingraven's VTR 250 is very wee but she seems to be taking to it pretty well.
The funny thing with her riding is that is scares the shit out of me. I had to call my mom and apologize for making her worry about me now that I have been on the other side of the argument. When she is out riding, if I dont hear her go by the house regularly I start to get a wee bit excited.
The other funny point is that when you are as bike giddy as me, I am supportive and do my best to teach her responsibly, but part of my advice is 'just go' we all have to make our own mistakes and hope that they are within our reach to fix.

Best of luck!

Wayne: Download photobucket app(free). take picture, close camera. go to photo in gallery on phone, choose picture, and then do "quick upload"..which should take it to PB. Then go to PB,see albums, and choose pic, and copy code(IMG code).....paste in thread. Seems like a lot of steps, but is easy.

Tires:
Front Tire has about 1500 miles on it, virtually new
Rear Tire has about 2,000 miles left on it--but new rear tire comes with the bike.

Mods/Accessories:
Yamaha Factory Heated Grips
Wasp heated grip controller relocation bracket
Side windshield winglets
8 position 6/2 switched/unswitched fuse box (Eastern Beaver with harness)
Highway Dirt Bikes Top Clamp
1 Switched Powerlet (L/S of HDP top clamp)
1 Unswitched Powerlet (R/S of HDP top clamp)
Bags connection tank bag mount
Highly modded, custom Wolfman Explorer tank bag--has Powerlet power pass thru--it's a most essential piece of kit (see sig line for detailed photo album of the bag)
Hepco Becker Skid Plate
Hepco Becker top case mount
Hepco Becker TC52 Top Case (a real 52L) with top rack
Opened under pillion pack tray to access space to store tools
K&N Air Filter (done at 14K)

Additional if desired, not installed on bike:
EDIT--Wasp Raising Links: (SOLD)
Stebel Air Horn with Eastern Beaver Premade Harness (used) $35
EDIT: Scorpio SR I900 Alarm with two way RF Remote: $150

Blemishes (bike is pre-loved and ridden):
R/S plastic winglet screw missing (on order)
L/S Engine guard rash (on order)
L/S Hand guard scratched (on order)
L/S Fairing slight brush marks
Muffler cover slight brush marks
Fuel tank some paint wear in spots from tank bag

Factory warranty repairs:
L/S heated grip replaced--was inop, fixed and good to go.
Rear diff seals replaced--had a leak, replaced all the seals, good to go.

you see what I see?

Look at 8 o'clock and 6 o'clock from the fuel ring--it's the only significant blem on the bike, I'll continue to work this to make it as pretty as possible for you, 10 years in a Toyota shop, I can do good things with this, but not perfection:

It's just time for me to move on out of the big DS market--I now commute 13 miles to work. RAM ball on the L/S Mirror and that green ROX Strap will come off, everything else is as you see it. I'll leave you the RAM ball on the HDP top clamp.

Bike is absolutely adventure ready.

Ridden and always cared for...a ridden motorcycle, one that plys the 'nowheres' has to be kept in good condition. Just like a man's rifle.

Removed as discussed in first post:
RAM Eyelet (the one on the L/S mirror)
SAE Power cord (split off unswitched powerlet)

When I did that it means that the splitter is now empty, so I took one of these to cap it off:

And now YOU could split something off there, sirius, GPS...I'd recommend an SAE...then you can wire whatever...for me I make my own SAE power cords for GPS..then you can power them easy.

Now it looks like this, painted it to make it blend...it was offending me in that stark white:

Replaced:
  • 5 beveled allen head hardware bolts for Hepco Becker skid plate (weak, soft, slightly oblonged)
  • 2 front, 5 mm round head
  • 2 side and 1 bottom with 6 mm allen flat head (to prevent bolt heads from snagging)

From the bottom, R/S

From underneath:

Discovered:
  • 4 missing clear plastic washers that are behind allen heads that hold on side panels--no fix--nice to have, but they're maddening, the fall off and disappear into the nether.
  • 1 of the quick release bolts for the R/S fairing access is missing the back--like an earing--it still secures fine, no fix
  • I forgot to tell you that there is a 12V underseat Powerlet cig lighter receptacle under the R/S fairing--just a contingency if you had to charge a cell phone and needed a circuit in the event of failure of the two main powerlets--forgot I'd installed it.

Polished Tank scratches--came out great--should have made less of a big deal about that in my opinion

But, if you look at this--you can see some significance to it--there are some blems where the clear is marred:

Aforementioned scratches on L/S plastic panel:

Some more detail of the bike in the middle of the floor, not all squished over in the corner:

Looks good eh? :) :)

That's my girlfriend, Karina, of just about 2 years. She got her license in April.

She still wants the Bonnie but based on her size and experience, the 250 was a good choice to start. We take it home by the end of this week. Starting out slow but I hope to have her out on the road soon!

She's extremely excited and that 250 was a total gem to find! 2002, 4k miles, one owner, garage kept.

Awesomeness.

Actually looking at a CBR250 now that the Tenere is gone.

and KJ, yes, I think 17 it was. Very close to MRG.

Haystack...that's the last time I rode the bike. I parked it after that and never took it out again. A good thing, not a bad thing. "It is done" feel to it.

Wow! MoBill and Haystack, sold your bike bikes. Bill that was quick! but I must admit there is something to be said for smaller bikes. To be honest, I hardly touched my GSA this summer so far. I always seem to gravitate to the 650 single without even thinking. Of course after riding the GSA, the 650 feels like a 125 in size and weight .
Nicely kept S10 Bill.
