U.S. Customs and Border Protection is on the lookout for illegally-imported Land Rover Defender vehicles that don’t meet federal safety standards, including the airbag standards.

The agency said on April 15 that there has been a wave of shipments of the potentially dangerous vehicles across the U.S., with “dozens” of the illegal Defenders showing up at various ports of entry including Baltimore, Charleston, SC., Jacksonville, FL, and Savannah, GA.

HA - quite the value inflation. Looks good for the agencies involved.
I hope NHTSA has more to do than saving us from D90s and I wish Border Protection would focus attention elsewhere.

101 Forward Control ambulance on eBay yesterday in the military vehicles section. I got the impression that it was being sold as part of an estate sale and they didn't quite know what it was.

How did we ever survive without air bags in the past. Look at all the older vehicles out there that don't have air bags OR seatbelts even now. Friggin nanny laws.

I added seatbelts to my 1959 SII. But I ain't putting no dam airbag in it.
