Baja with Overland Training 2009

Hi,
I posted this back in December of 2009 in a different thread but just now saw this one dedicated to video so I hope the double post ok.

Enjoy -- This is a 2000+ mile trip from Phoenix Arizona to the southern border of Baja Norte, Mexico. The group was 14 4wheel drive vehicles and two motos.
Myself on the blue Honda NX650 and my buddy on his yellow DR200!

not sure how many have gopro's but probably gonna pick one up soon, and was just needing some extra convincing, post up your favorite videos.

PS. I did a search first couldn't find such a thread, if this is a duplicate point me in the right direction and delete this one.

My Go Pro HD arrived on Saturday, and I made my first successful on-bike video the following day. The files are enormous and will need to be edited before uploading them to YouTube.

From what I've seen so far, my conclusion is that mounting the camera directly to the bike gets the best results. Mine was mounted to my helmet, making the camera seem to 'float' above the road. Since I tend to angle my head in turns to keep the horizon level, the entire sensation of leaning in the corners is missing in these videos; its almost as if I'd filmed them from a car. For my next batch, I intend to mount the camera to my headlight or gas tank.

For those of you who don't yet know it, there's another free vido hosting service at www.vimeo.com, which displays videos in higher definition (720P) than YouTube.

This is one from when my friend and i were riding a minimum maintenance road last year. Its a great video only because he crashes and gets it on video.

Here's one of a friend riding around down in New Idria, California. She'd never been on dirt or gnarly goat roads on her Ninja 650R so did very well.

It's a GoPro HD motorsports camera.

I tried to have a little fun with it. Edited in iMovie.
