At the Old School
I haven't seen a thread of pics with our bikes at old school houses. I personally find these old schools interesting. Many around here have been converted into homes, offices etc. Let the pics begin. Try to post a little info such as location and any history you may know about it.
This is the old rockland schoolhouse near front royal VA. It's currently used as an antique shop. I believe it was used as a school until around 1920's but don't quote me on that. ![]() Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 |

![]() Ivyland, Penna. I went to school here. It was one room, with a partition running down the middle separating 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades from 4th, 5th, & 6th grades. The foyer in the front is the "cloak room," the bathroom is in the basement, and along the right side, below the windows, was a small library that included the What Is a and So You Want to Be a series of books.

Cool description hamboneslim. I wondered when I started this thread how many schools would be posted by a former student.

Abandoned one-room schoolhouse, Yonkers, OK. The school was for children up through eighth grade and averaged 30-40 students. The town and school were abandoned in 1935 when the Corps of Engineers built a dam and lake here, flooding the area during high waters.

Former elementary school, currently vacant. Stephens City, VA. Picture taken at the rear since the front didn't offer a good parking spot.

This one is in Middletown, VA..... Years ago I looked at this building and considered purchasing it to convert it into my home. I never made the move and someone else did. Currently used as a single family home.
