A sidecar outfit is a good 1/2 or 1/3 load for the typical tow-behind flatbed trailer, it's light enough for two people to load, and properly secured - it won't tip over....all important considerations for a working couple making money from their diesel pickup/trailer combo. My guesstimate is that it would cost less than $500 to ship a BMW/Velorex rig up the East Coast - which makes searching Craigslist (hint: use this Google search - 'sidecar site:craigslist.org') a new form of Blood Sport. 2003 Ural For Sale. UPDATE: NO Trailer!
AS OF 9-4-2009, THE URAL TOURIST
SIDECAR RIG NO LONGER FOR SALE. UPDATE 8-20-2009: Here's the deal. I have tried to sell the bike/trailer rig on ebay twice. Sold it both times and both times the winning bidder backed out of the deal. The first one backed out when I refused to pay to have it shipped to him in California. The second winner apparently bid with no intention of buying. For fun, I guess. I am selling the bike due to a progressing brain disorder. I am on new meds, which are helping with my deteriorating cognition. I no longer feel like I am forcing my thoughts through thick molasses. The wife and I talked tonight and have decided to hang onto the trailer, and come Spring, if my thinking has not deteriorated any further, buying a new Ural Tourist. But right now the bike needs to be sold to pay the bills (from medical tests and consults) which have piled up during the last three years (wife was "shielding" me from our financial state). So...$4,000 and the sidecar rig is yours. No Trailer. You need to come and pick it up, or arrange shipping. If you live within a hundred miles of Stevensville, Michigan, I could be able to ride it to you and deliver it personally (followed by my wife in the car)(to take me home after I deliver it So here are the photos, bike: ![]() ![]() ![]() The Ural has 22,000K on it. Drum brakes all around. 750cc, electric or kick start. Electric (Series 3) ignition. Spot-welded ignition rotor. Russian alternator has been replaced with the new Nippondenso alternator with adaptor. Retro valve covers (original stock covers included in sale). Two almost new Avon Triple Duty Sidecar tires (front and driver wheels, driver tire kinda worn). Radiator hose intake hoses have been replaced with reinforced aircraft ventilation tubing. Scissors jack (from the Volvo behind the bike in the photo) included. Vetter Windjammer III mounted and a Harley Sportster boat-tail seat replacing Ural tractor seat and stock rear fender and lights. Sealed, gel battery mounted between bike and sidecar. Barnett heavy-duty front brake cable plus spare.New headlight relays. The two main fuses replaced with modern automotive-style blade-type fuses. Same for the turn signal flasher unit. Powelet outlet on fairing. Smart-Version Battery Tender. Hook-up for Battery Tender on battery box. Heay-duty motorcycle cover (brown canvas and huge). FIAM horn. Aftermarket reverse-cone seamless mufflers (crossover pipe eliminated, oil filter access no longer blocked) New fuel lines and fuel filters. New gas cap (ratchet mechanism broke on the old one). Extra stop/tail light lense for the boat tail (NOS, still in the box from General Motors, for a 1965 Chevy Biscayne). New carb intake manifolds, commonly known as "compliance fittings." PM me, or send me an email. schimancharles@comcast.net TANSTAAFL license plate is not included in the sale.
