Biggest issue to check for on the 996s is the rear main seal and the intermediate shaft. Rule of thumb on buying a used 996 is this... If it's got lots of miles and no evidence of leaking oil, then you got good castings. It's the same on Boxters and Caymans as well. Beyond that, have them inspect the front and rear axles/ for play and a good general PPI would help...I've got a BUNCH of DIYs on the 996Turbo over on Renntrack.com (My other home) and I've had my 996TT appart quite a bit over the last four years... They're great cars as long as they're kept up with... Mine has been bulletproof...

I will chime in....loved the late 70s 911 myself, just don't have the funds to get one, so I ran across this little beauty last year. Traded my restored Seca turbo in return for the car and cash to me
![]() Replaced the motor (overheated water pump failure on the original) and drove the shit out of it before selling it to fund another project. Gonna get me one of them those 911 some day. Traded this ![]() For this

70s!
One of the rarest Porsches ever built, one of the rarest cars ever built too! Why must I have this kind of taste in vehicles!

I guess this is kind of a "Sacrilege" but sounds like a really powerful "racecar"

I'm not sure about that V8 Porsche. The headlights look cross eyed, I'm not sure what the tape measurer was showing and I'll bet it will do nothing but straight line runs at any amount of speed. They didn't mention any inter-cooler either, 28 pounds of boost and no inter-cooler?
Just not my flavor.

Sweet!
Hate the rubber bumper things on these cars. I shaved my951 rear bumper and it looks much better. Now I want to get rid of the bumpers on the 928S4.
