Getting ready to head out. Took a look at the radar. The Gulf is spitting out some pretty good thunderstorm acivity in our area, but they seem to run out of gas before they get too far inland. We'll get some pics up toinght.

Don't fall down. Hydrate some more. Take lots of photos. Scribble notes on a piece of paper and keep it in your pocket. Come back in one piece. Put your stuff in the same pockets, every time. Hydrate a wee bit more. Check to be sure your pockets are zipped shut before rolling again. DAMHIK ![]() |

We have arrived at our destination after 325 miles. We started out at about 830 this morning. It took us a little piddling around to get our load plan sorted out. We averaged about 75 miles in between stops. Just easy stretches of slab to get us acclimated. We dodged some heavy showers and got sprinkled on a little bit. Outside of Meridian MS we were about 15 seconds behind a collision. Dust was still flying, car parts scattered everywhere. Makes a strong case for building a bubble around us as much as we can, clearing blind spots quickly, and having an escape route planned.
Today was not so much a sight seeing day. The plan was to make tracks for the Barber Motorsports Museum and to settle in early with our friends in Moody AL. I am getting much more comfortable with Karin's riding. She actually pushed me through an off ramp cloverleaf. She's getting the lean down very well. Still struggling a little bit with the fully loaded bike at parking lot speeds. Here we are geared up ready to roll ![]() Here's Karin cruising up US 49 in MS showing her ADV family the love. ![]() Karin at the ground level of the Museum. This place really is a sight to behold. ![]() There are some really cool military scoots at Barber. ![]() We were fortunate enough to be able to catch a little track day action!!! ![]() And the honorary Darth Peach pose. We love you DP.

Today was a an easy going day, just interstates the most of the way and fortunately nothing too trafficy.
As a squidly n00b there are a few things I will admit make me nervous: *riding in the rain (which I have now encountered twice) *18-wheelers (which are inevitable and make me feel like a bobble head) *heavy traffic at high speeds (getting used to this one) *wrecks (have been in a few car accidents and was spectator to one today... either way, they are unnerving) The Barber Meuseum was amazing. If you haven't been, go. It's interesting to see how bikes have evolved over the years. I think my fave was a vintage Ducati (tried to post pics but don't have an adapter for my weird camera card )*My one rant for the day is idiot drivers that like to do 45 mph on the interstate... wtf is that?! ..... or the ones that speed up and ride your ass for 2 miles just to exit.... UGH! On a lighter note, we arrived to our destination and were greeted by an enthusiastic couple. They took us out to BBQ and then we went beaver hunting!! The kind of beaver hunting with guns and spotlights and other such redneck paraphenalia Ok, I'm an adventurer, but I have to draw the line somewhere, and I do believe it's right about here.It was iteresting to say the least. Gotta pee

Today should be a great day. About 220 miles. We are in the foothills of the Appalachians now, and will make our way up onto Lookout Mountain to do some sightseeing, then drop down into Chattanooga to go to the Aquarium. We'll end up in Tellico Plains about 1/2 mile from the start of the Cherohala Skyway. Talk to you later.
