I'll save Tinks the trouble of having to relate this information for the umpteenth time. She is not originally from Arkansas. She is from California. Her dad is in California.

Also...the put-downs aimed at Arkansas aren't nearly as funny as you folks think. Your assumptions about the state are based on ignorance and misinformation. What bad can be said about it can be said about any other state too.

Really....it's getting old.

Sense of humor is fine. Tell me 10 jokes about Arkansas and I will probably laugh right along. Tell me 1,000.....

If I saw other states getting the ribbing as frequently, I wouldn't mind. But more often than not, if someone is cracking a joke about how backward a state is, the punchline is Arkansas. There is a high likelihood they have never been here, have no idea what the state is really like, and would rather just remain ignorant, yet somehow otherwise consider themselves enlightened individuals.

Ah well, rant over. Like spitting into the ocean. It won't make a bit of difference.

Try living in California. I've never lived in a state that gets so much consideration from non-residents.

Jeebus, people. Doesn't anything ever happen in your little bitty state?

And all this time I thought New Jersey was the butt of all the "This State Sucks" jokes

In the case of New Jersey, most of them are true.

P.S. I'm bred-and-fled New Jersey

That is one of the reasons I'm in Monticello at least every other weekend.
