5 barns FULL 'o stuff!

I'd known this old boy for 30 years, and I knew he had a lot of stuff. But until he passed away, even his kids didn't know the Full Extent of it! ("We found another barn back on the hill that we didn't know about!!")

The family is wanting me to help them price & sell most of the cars (sorry, NO motorcycles), and then to hook them up w/ my uncle the antiques/junk dealer to sell off much of the rest.

This is the one I might buy. 1956 Packard Clipper 2-door hardtop. I'd just get it runnin', & Rat Rod it. Unfortunately it ain't worth restoring.

Also in the barns; 1950 Dodge pickup & a 1960 Rambler convertible, both in VERY good shape. A '70s Spitfire. And a 1930 Packard 740 Phaeton! (partially disassembled but almost all there).
Plus 4-5 other 1950's Packards, a '59 Mercedes, etc., etc., just sitting in the field (scrap/parts cars).

More pix to come.... in 6-8 weeks.... AFTER my leg heals! I fell on the ice and broke it the other day.

BTW; I am now the proud owner of his 1863 Springfield Rifle. I'd always admired it.

RIP Tom. The world has lost one FINE Irishman!

Hidden for twenty seven years.

1964 Mercury Marauder. Factory 390 4V Interceptor.

Remarkably, all floor plans are completely solid. As is the frame, including all mounting points.

Frame rails. Dirty, but solid.

390 4V Interceptor. The gold valve covers and air cleaner long since covered with dust and oil. The engine turns by hand, and the mileage is actual at just over 70 000.

Body off restoration begins next year.

wow, nice find. my first car was a 65' Montclair Marauder.
Like this but yellow and no fender skirts

It had the 390. Strong powerplant but the tranny had lots of leak issues.
post progress on restore.

This was found at Stanford University where it sat for about 15 years. Since Stanford is nicknamed "The Farm" and my friend who dragged it home lives in a converted barn, I think it qualifies.

here is a partial before photo.

This is after I cleaned it up and titled it. Just some rust removal, carb cleaning oil change and valve adjustment.

Ah well, rant over. Like spitting into the ocean. It won't make a bit of difference.

I live in South Carolina and I understand completely.

It's a great topic for discussion, but the participants need to act mature.

South Carolina, Arkansas, what's the difference? Just be thankful you aren't Alabama or West Virginia.

Spotted in Tygh Valley this weekend.

Not in a barn, but close to one

There used to be a fellow just south of Altus, Oklahoma, that had a few acres of old iron..'40's, 50's and 60's, a few '70's model cars and trucks. It all sat there.....and sat there......and sat there. He wouldn't sell anything, would run you off if you stopped to ask or inquire. Never could figure out just what he wanted to accomplish by that. Eventually, he died or was put in a home or something. His son commenced to sell it all off, but by that time it was all pretty worthless, rusted, unsalvageable junk. I think there were a few gems to still be had, but the rest pretty much got sold as scrap metal. There was a late 60's Plymouth musclecar that had a tree that grew up through it!

Damned waste. Just can't figure folks like that.

It blows me away looking at the 850 rotting away! I understand we all let life get in the way of fun but letting old iron rot stumps the mind! The 850 looks pretty complete why not bring it back to life where it belongs. The rotting CBX kills me as it was always my dream bike so smooth and what a sound!!!
