Can you get a pic and post it up? I've got a bud who's had Opel on the Brain for 25 years, he'd go crazy after seeing that.

garage find

Four years ago a buddy of mine was delivering a sail and spotted an old Honda Passport in the back of the guys garage.. He asked the owner if it was for sale. The guy said he would take $ 300 for it. Buddy calls me and asks if I want it. Yes!

1981 C70 Passport with 158 actual miles, original, complete and near perfect.

Story is the guy and his wife bought a pair of them in Ohio in 1982. Wife wrecked hers, tore up an ankle and forbid him from riding his. After storing it for 25 years and moving it to Florida the guy finally decided the wife wasn't going to change her mind.

It's a great little errand runner. A bank, groceries, library, parts store and local dive are all less then a mile away. The bike has just over 2000 miles now and it's only been more then three miles from home once.

its weird that it has snow tyres on it, never saw a vette with snow tyres!

It's more of a YARD find, but I pass a 1969 Nova SS with a ZL1 hood on it everytime I go up I-40 east thu the Tijeras Canyon. I know a guy who knew the guy who owned and street raced it in the 70s and it has a LS6 motor in it out of a 1972 or 71 Chevelles SS 454 LS6. I hear it's fast.....to that I say Ho, no shit huh?? It still looks pretty good! I am toying with riding up to the house some day on the Husky and asking if he wants to sell it.

This isn't my experience, but I thought some might get amusement from it:

Somewhere around 10 years ago, a good friend of mine found out about a 1966 GT350 Shelby Mustang that was basically just sitting around unused for years in the back of a guy's shop, out in the country. It was white with the blue stripes, had the optional Paxton supercharger, and (unfortunately) an automatic transmission. The car was completely original, save for a respectable re-paint sometime back. It was what car collectors would call a "driver". Definitely not a concourse-level show car, but perfectly fine for regional car geek get-togethers and sunday drives.

The story was the guy had purchased it for his son back 20-30 years ago, before classic car (and especially Shelby Mustang) prices went stratospheric, but tragically his son passed away shortly thereafter. My buddy worked on the guy for months before the old man was talked into selling, which was understandable. He finally got a yes from the fellow somewhere around 2000 or 2001 and paid ~$25K for it- basically low market at the time. Fast forward to a few months ago, my buddy grew tired of it (he's a car collector with a money tree somewhere in his backyard), and sold it for just south of $100K. He gave a lot of thought to having a full-off, rotisserie resto done on it, but he didn't think it would increase the value enough to offset the massive expense.

How's that for an ROI?

Try this: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/cmps_index.php

That car is posted here. It sits in the back of an old dealer with about 100 miles on it.
