I didn't think they hounded at all. They were persistent, but at the end of the day they probably save a lotta stuff from rotting into the ground.
i wondered about the reality of the show. like maybe they are nicer when the cameras are rolling. And the deal with the sidecar trade to get the vespa- maybe that was fiction added on to save face.

and lastly they discarded the idea of making an offer on the mint probably low mile metropolitan cause it wasn't worth much.

I meet this guy a couple years ago, we're talking about bikes (mostly RD's) and he's telling me that he has a bunch of bikes in his basement, "some run, some are in pieces"........so one day I get to go over to take a look, thinking I would just see a bunch of junk..........this is just part of what I seen.

Did he mention how he happened to collected them all?

Maybe he is a compulsive motorcycle hoarder.

That is pretty awesome. I would love to go through there and work on some of those. There could be a lot of fun.

My new acquisition!

20 years sitting, and the tires still hold air, the motor turns, and there is minimal rust!

See the whole story here: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/general...barn-find.html

I found this from a fellow ADVRider. Thanks Dave!

That looks like a big project but really fun JVB. I've participated in a number of restorations on air coooled VW's and a couple of saab sonnets. Some were waaay worse than this thing looks. Add some pictures of it with a simple cleaning when you get a chance.

I'm going to go ahead and start a full thread on it here once I get it home!

Thanks, it should be a lot of fun!

He said he started buying them (after his divorce) mostly out of the nickle adds, in the mid 80's thought 90's. I don't think he's buying much now.
