Nah. Don't remember what the bike in front of it was, but if it was a Montesa I would have dug further.

Most of the stuff under tarps were just Halfway-Decent Cheap Used Motorcycles, like THIS...

Runs good. He said he'd been playing with it, buzzing around his yard.

I'll be going back when he has more time to Really Root Around.
He said "the older stuff I find really goes quick". No doubt.

Oh, and I didn't want the 125cc Honda for myself. I'm 6'7" and 270lbs so we wouldn't be a Good Fit! I knew of a potential buyer and was just kicking myself for not taking the Lowball Price he shot me at that visit. By the time I contacted my guy and called back. It was Gone. Would have at least made enough to cover my gas for the next visit (he lives 120 miles from me) and helped out a buddy who needed a parts bike.

But he did talk about a nice Suzuki GS1000E he was gonna' pick up........

Thanks!
They're around. More Ambassadors (750-4speed) than Eldorados (850-5speed).
Quite a few on the west coast due to use by CHP and other authorities in
the early to mid 70's.
Here's a thread which may give you some good info:

Loving this thread!

Here's my barn find.

Down in the damp lower level. Caught my eye one day so I had to ask what was up with the old trials bike.

A little careful watering of the seed and it finally went home with me a few Christmas eve's ago.

Spent some time over that winter bringing it back to life.

She's a runner. Fun little bike!

There was a catch, however. These had to go with it. A 250 OR.

And a PE250.

The 1978 PE250 had just over 400 miles on it. 445.5, actually. Adult owned. Note the wrench intact beside the headlight.

The Husky I passed on to a good friend who will eventually bring it back. Another good friend and fellow inmate is currently doing a full resto on the PE. This is what it looked like with some cleaning up.

Heres mine. Found it in a barn where it had been parked since 84. Did a little clean-up and minimal mechanical work, and it has since taken me to 11 states and one Canadian province. Looking forward to more touring on it this year.

The boy looks like a desperado, while you, even with salute and drink, not quite as much. No offense intended, Just that he looks to have serious intent. Good luck with him.

I'm married,my serious intent is long gone.

That ones my Great nefew.I shit you not,all i have to do to amuse this kid,is open the garage door, and he'll run for the JR,jump on it and make Braaap sounds while twisting the throddle. For hours,i could goto the store and come back 4 hours later and that kid would still be doing the samething.

I grew up with one of these, ours was a green '62. This one looks like a '58. Damn thing could crawl through anything and pull everyone else's Jeep out of the mud while doing it. Plowed like a champ. Dad drove, I sat in Mom's lap while my 2 older brothers straddled all the shifter sticks poking out of the floor. Wish we had more pics of that thing. 8mpg out of a straight 6. Dad sold it a month before I could be the 3rd son to take it to the prom. So many good memories.
