The voters rejected a levy to pay for it themselves.

Said the non-native treehugger

They can't pass shit in this county, since over half of the residents are retired from elsewhere

I am not sure what a mild dig at me has to do with the voters of a county making a decision to gut their own public safety resources. And they would have gotten the payment if not for budget bullshit in congress triggering the sequester.

Nice to have someone to blame, I guess.

I'm sure the wealthy Californians retiring there are the ones not willing to pay for police services. Makes sense to me.

Seeing you are one of the smartest people I know on ADV, I figured I'd take a look.

Couldn't find anything about hoards of Californians moving into Jo-Co, let alone ones that bring their wealth with them to one of the poorer/meth/crime-riddled counties in Oregon, only to vote against funding the police.

Can you help me out?

That was your original point, right? The recent lack of funding for police, leading to the 911 call you posted?

Nothing I love more than a dude on the internet telling me where I stand on a subject.

You don't know where I stand, because we've never spoken about it.

That 911 call had nothing to do with a late payment to welfare dependent counties?

Hmmm....... maybe a story out of Grant's Pass AP office will tell me something.

Oh, yes. Sentence number one.....

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) Timber counties in western Oregon are unhappy that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management is taking so long to send out $2 million in federal subsidies withheld under the mandatory budget cuts known as sequestration.

Indeed.

Now, if you're wanting to move the goal posts to make this about the 10 years of welfare payments counties have squandered with no plan for the future, that's another issue. I'm sure you have strong feelings about government handouts.

Alternatively, if you want to blame others for your counties plight, after a fictitious 51% of Californian voters robbed you of your safety services, that's also another issue. Considering JoCo has the lowest property taxes in the entire state, yet didn't care enough about the police to pay for it - the county owns it. You and your neighbors are responsible. Not the tree huggers, not anybody. You don't like it, next time a levy comes up, get off your lazy ass and canvas for it's support. When the residents of that county get off the government tit, you'll all feel better.

Maybe your just one of those damn liberals that wants to keep getting government handouts? You know the ones - the ones that after a decade and more of being on welfare, blame someone else when it runs out?

It's all so confusing, isn't it.

Just sit back, drink more beer, make out with that dog of yours some more, and blame everyone else for your problems, Wibby. Things will get better someday. It's rugged individualism at it's finest.
