We made it out of Mexico alive. We didn't get mugged, raped, kidnapped.....nothing was stolen, no one begged us for money, we didn't get hustled by the police. It's totally boring!

Amazing. No promises on a ride report, but I'll likely show some pictures at some point. But really, I can't say thanks enough to Al who really showed us some unbelievable sights and experiences that we wouldn't have thought of if we were just riding around on our own. Getting to know the locals, the fresh oranges we picked, the scallops bought from the locals, the clams we dug, the garden we got fresh things from every day, the 8000 y/o cave paintings, the desert oasis, (oases really), all the taco stands, the tequila, the pomegranate, and the goat cheese. The care free helmetless riding through town, the sunsets, the campfires.

Thanks a million to HellsAlien!

Staying with my folks in Gold Canyon, AZ for a week or so because my sibs and their kids are flying in. Then next weekend in San Diego and back to Portland. Work starts in Portland on the 21st and in Alaska for good on May 12.

Yep! Everyone wanted to know where we were going, where we were from. It helps when there's a chick riding a dusty FZ6. She got lots of attention.

Always good to have a good "wingman"

I have a friend from back in the hood who lives outside Anchorage now- going on ten years I think- I'll FB introduce you three so you can have a non-inmate perspective on the area.

Looking forward to the send off party!

Not related to anything, but in this thread is anything relative?

Something I do on the side is develop aircraft for the flight simulation FlightGear. I've been recently working on a motorcycle simulation seen here riding the Isle of Man TT course 'backwards' from Douglas' IoM-TT start point to Creg-Ny-Baa. I've modded the scenery some. New simulation of manual shift gearing and lighting effects.

Yeah except when you get into rougher scenery with height differential, then it's sort of angular roller coaster-ish. the Ramsey Hairpin is a real hoot in FlightGear, as is the twisty bits north of Ballacraine.

It's a flight simulation, and open source, multi OS, and freeware. The scenery isn't going to be as nice like FSX, but it can be improved upon.
